I ended up purchasing a second set of the Pet Shop and I’ll be totally honest I can’t remember if I either had the idea originally or saw it on-line, but it can be fun to build the second apartment building as a mirror to the first one. Also a bit of a mind bender if I remember correctly! I have mine set up with the two doors close to each other but it’s certainly easy enough to switch them around if you prefer them that way.
My two little sisters were looking forward to getting the Lego Friends hourse riding camp set, (the $100, whatever it’s called,) and so we were on the Lego shopping site, and I saw that it was on clearance for $49.99. And immediately I was like, “YOU…WHA-BUT YOU GOT IT SOOO GOO-” and then I realized it was sold out 🙂 🙁 . I was seriously considering picking one up for myself, for the pieces.
This LEGO set is the “cheaper” version of the UCS Imperial Shuttle (10212), a set with extreme attention to detail, but already discontinued and quite complicated to find (also a bit pricey starting at $760).
The LEGO is an impressive pirate ship from Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean movie. It features a hinged bow section, opening skeleton hull with decay and destruction detailing, movable rudder, collapsible main mast, and two further masts. Other features include a long bowsprit with crow’s nest and mast, tattered sails, detailed quarterdeck, plus a rowboat with two oars. Weapons include two gray swords, three black swords, a pistol and Silent Mary Masthead’s shield and sword elements. [ 332 more words ]
Relive the ultimate betrayal in Cloud City with this rare LEGO Star Wars set. Lando is ready to turn our heroes over to the dark side! Don’t worry, when you build it, you can make the story go however you please. This 698 piece set will leave you frozen in disbelief (thankfully not in Carbonite!) at how cool it is. Get your hands on this set before Boba Fett does!
How many pieces are there? – Unless you have actually counted them, don’t give an estimate of how many pieces are in your lot. A better way to quantify your lot is by weight (not including the container or instruction books).
Also included are three blue and gray lion soldiers. One is equipped with a longbow, a quiver, and a helmet. Another is equipped with a helmet and a crossbow. The last has a chest plate, a large shield, a sword, and a helmet with a visor (introduced in LEGO Kingdoms Escape From Dragon’s Prison 7187).

If you found an enormous deal but spent 30+ hours to find it then you should be getting them for free. Once you have taught yourself what is the actual MSRP, you should be ready to act when there is a good sale. Note: Toys ‘R Us prices may be higher than MSRP so do the math when you shop Buy-One-Get-One-50% Off.
Clean your LEGO pieces. You don’t need to scrub each piece, but a quick wash in warm water and dish soap will add value to your LEGO lot. Put them in a storage tub with enough warm water to cover them. Add some soap and stir them around a bit. Let them soak a while and stir them a few more times. Drain, rinse, and spread them out on a towel to air dry. Stir them up a few times on the towel so the water drains better. Mention in your listing that you have cleaned them. If you have no pets or smokers in your home, mention this as well.
It’s simple but Number 1 made color directions for this creation (on one sheet only! hooray for executive function skills!) and sold it at his school flea market fundraiser.  He was beaming with pride!
What about rebrickable.com? This can store your entire collection, tell you what pieces you have missing from any set and create a shopping list at specific brick link or brick owl vendors. Super handy!
Whether it’s Brian’s Toys, a friend, or someone who responds to your add through Craigslist who will resell the sets for you, they will have to have enough wiggle-room to be able to make the deal profitable and worth their time.
Once upon a time, I bought a HUGE bin of used LEGOs for just $25 dollars.  It must have been over 15 lbs. I was so happy.  It was disgustingly dirty though… I had to wash them three times in my tub. The previous owner had a cat and I’m allergic.  That was hard.
