Stafford considers the Galidor line to be Lego’s most heinous offense. Based on a kid’s show of the same name, the line was basically an action figure series with awkward features like interchangeable arms for characters. Each set in the line featured specialized pieces, which were expensive to produce and in practically no way resembled a Lego product.
Team up with THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE characters Batman, Batgirl, Robin and Alfred Pennyworth (in Batsuit) to give the Super-Villains quadruple trouble with The Ultimate Batmobile! This amazing model divides into 4 separate vehicles: the Batmobile, Batwing, Bat-Tank and Batcycle. The Batmobile features foldout boosters and 4 stud shooters, while the Batwing has foldout wings and 2 spring-loaded shooters. The Batcycle has foldable wheels and the heavily-armored Bat-Tank boasts 2 hidden 6-stud rapid shooters. The set also includes the rotating Bat-Signal with a LEGO light brick, Polka-Dot Man’s flying disc, plus 8 minifigures with assorted weapons and accessories to inspire endless role-play action.
The model requires 3508 pieces and it can be connected easily to official LEGO modular buildings. This full of details modular building will bring a new different look to your city and the fully furnished interiors will allow you to play for long hours.

However, I do have one other complaint about all the new sets…. too much gimmickry. All the old sets were just build up… now we have the SNOT techniquie in a dozen different variations, and a lot of building gimmicks that makes building without instructions totally impossible. You have to be spoon fed every step of the way in building these elaborate and large structures. And unfortunately… the end results have an unfortunately resemblance to the buildings you would see on the Disneyworld Main Street, rather than the small town Main Street…
Technic figure is, due to the lack of a uniform, just part of the technical fantasy/model. But when a boy is thinking of the moving parts in a supercar, motorcycle or crane, that usually wouldn’t involve an operator. The boy himself is the operator. Putting a Technic figure in a model means putting someone else in the driver seat. This part isn’t about identification, it’s who is in charge.
Hello, up for your consideration is my tribute build of one of the first Lego modular buildings, the Green Grocer Lego set 10185. This is not the original Lego set but it is made with 100% genuine Leg…
Legos quality control is fantastic for the billions of parts they manufacture and sort into sets!! My recent experience was a fluke!! It was nice to know Lego wasn’t perfect after all!! I seen it happen myself!!
I disappeared into the Harry Potter Lego Internet rabbit hole and here are a few of the places I’ve found to buy discontinued Harry Potter Lego sets, or even used Lego pieces — all without breaking the bank.
This set marks the 10th Anniversary of the Modular building sets containing numerous “easter egg” references in use of brick elements, colors and architectural details to every Modular set released over the previous years.

Head out to the lighthouse quick with the LEGO City Coast Guard Patrol. There’s a couple stranded in a sinking dinghy and 3 sharks are swimming nearby. Launch the submarine and helicopter from the Coast Guard Patrol boat to get there fast. Rescue the couple with the life preservers, pull them into the helicopter and scare the sharks away with the water cannons. Includes 3 sharks and 6 minifigures with accessories: Pilot, captain, crew member, rescuer, man and woman.
The Cafe Corner (set # 10182) has been retired for quite a while now, so sets are hard to come by and quite expensive, but still one of the best in the series. The Cafe Corner was the first released in the series and did not come furnished but it probably has the highest level of architectural detail of all of the modular buildings. With enough pieces, you can even duplicate the second floor to make the hotel as many stories high as you want! Of course, the fact that it is not furnished is really not a drawback either as you can always decorate the interior they way you want too!
I love this set. It is complex, intricate and something that kept me amazed for hours while building. With most LEGO sets I take away new, interesting building techniques. With this set I continually thought to myself – “how in the world did someone think of this??” It was a,axing with a ton of nice gear work. I wish there were a lot more set with this much detail and complexity for the adult builder.
Then one day one of my friends recommended a “natural remedy” doctor. ‘Oh great!’ I thought. A witch doctor who’s going to put some fake voodoo hex on my feet and tell me it hurts. No thanks. I’d rather go to a regular doctor who will hurt me the old fashioned way. But I decided to give it a try.
So what can we conclude from this information, where we see some sets getting new, updated boxes and other sets continuing to use old boxes without the new Creator Expert logo? For the modular buildings collection, the box changes reinforce what we already suspected: 10218 Pet Shop is likely the next modular to retire. For the vehicles and landmarks lineups, we may expect 10220 Volkswagen T1 Camper Van and 10214 Tower Bridge to live on a bit longer, although any set that is as old as those sets should be considered at some risk of retirement. The biggest piece of information that could possibly be inferred from these box changes, however, is that 10234 Sydney Opera House could be a surprise candidate for early retirement. It’s difficult to know for certain if that will be the case, but that would be a huge, massively unexpected move that would catch many collectors and investors off-guard. In the recent past, large sets that retired unexpectedly, such as 10224 Town Hall experienced large, immediate gains in value. Could 10234 Sydney Opera House be the next set to do just that?
@drdavewatford, the reason for the great color choice and appeal to AFOLs stems from Jamie Beard (according to “LEGO: A Love Story”), an AFOL turned set designer, argued with LEGO on our behalf to get us sets in the rare You can also thank him for the small windows, which were created for the sets at his strong suggestion.
@yys4u: I understand the desire to be complete, but if cost is really an issue, I would suggest doing as colethegeek says: buy the current ones at the more reasonable retail price, since they’ll be enough for an impressive street scene. After that, if you still desire the out of print sets, you can begin on those, and hopefully your financial situation is improved. Also, I would focus on getting Cafe Corner and Green Grocer and pass on Market Street.
