So what can we conclude from this information, where we see some sets getting new, updated boxes and other sets continuing to use old boxes without the new Creator Expert logo? For the modular buildings collection, the box changes reinforce what we already suspected: 10218 Pet Shop is likely the next modular to retire. For the vehicles and landmarks lineups, we may expect 10220 Volkswagen T1 Camper Van and 10214 Tower Bridge to live on a bit longer, although any set that is as old as those sets should be considered at some risk of retirement. The biggest piece of information that could possibly be inferred from these box changes, however, is that 10234 Sydney Opera House could be a surprise candidate for early retirement. It’s difficult to know for certain if that will be the case, but that would be a huge, massively unexpected move that would catch many collectors and investors off-guard. In the recent past, large sets that retired unexpectedly, such as 10224 Town Hall experienced large, immediate gains in value. Could 10234 Sydney Opera House be the next set to do just that?

This forum is not good for my health. Whereas I had merely toyed with the idea, but not seriously…..I am now! I’ve spent vast fortune securing the deleted SW UCS, I don’t want to go there again!! But will I regret it?? Arrghhhh.
The eighth building in the series, LEGO 10232 Palace Cinema has been available since March 2013. It was the third corner building to be released, and the first modular building set that incorporated stickers into the design.
Lego Batman is a theme and product range of the Lego construction toy, introduced in 2006, based on the superhero character Batman, under license from DC Comics. The sets feature vehicles, characters and scenes from the comics and films. The inspirations for the design of these varies widely. For example, the Batmobile retains its basic sleek shape and prominent fins from the Tim Burton films, whereas the “Bat-Tank” seems to be based on the tank-like Batmobile in Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight In 2008, a video game based on the theme, Lego Batman: The Videogame, was released, along with four new sets. The theme was relaunched in early 2012 as part of the Lego DC Universe Superheroes line, which is a sub-theme of the Lego Super Heroes line. In total there were seventeen sets, almost all of them including Batman.
In 1997, LEGO introduced the Air Tank, which acts like a battery, storing compressed air so that even more powerful pneumatic circuits can be created. This piece is very popular with the enthusiast community, but many feel that it was underutilised by LEGO, as it only appeared in 3 model sets and a parts pack. This tank is now only available at the LEGO Education Store, along with a new manometer part.

As I own several on this list, I agree with those. But you have only mentioned relativly new sets. The 8070 is about 4 years old. I do agree that it should be on this list. But I miss the 8880, which is, in my opinion, the best technic set. I hope you can find one and try to build it.
Lego sets should be played with in combination with other sets.  The older ‘town’ sets embraced this much more than today with interconnecting baseplates and features that crossover.  I wanted to feature a ‘portaloo’ and used the one featured in 60073-1 Service truck to encourage set integration and play.  This Base plate / Connectivity is what people are enjoying about the CREATOR Modular Series.
DUPLO: DUPLO sets are designed to get babies building from the age of 18 months all the way up to 5 years old. These LEGO bricks are much larger so that they are easier for little hands to maneuver and do not pose a choking hazard. Many of these sets feature character favorites like Cars, Disney princesses, and Batman.

This was a Christmas gift for my husband. It took him a couple weeks working only a couple hours an evening to get it done. You have to be careful to choose the correct part and position it exactly right. It works great.
^– if you call Lego 10 different times you will most likely get at least 5 different answers… some Lego customer reps are more knowledgeable than others BUT I still think this list does not add up…

That said, if you have the time and can split the box out by category (be it Star Wars, pirates, Medieval, Technic or whatever) these smaller – more specific – bundles will frequently sell for more than a job-lot of unsorted bricks.

After calculating the price for the entire set, you can now order all the pieces by price so you can see which are the ones causing the greater damage. So, for my example, the UCS Millennium Falcon still costs US$ 3800. We’re now US$ 2600 down from the original price, but still, a lot of money.
