Baseplates – Baseplates are large, flat pieces that are thinner than regular building plates. They are popular items. Baseplates are usually referred to by their dimensions in LEGO studs, e.g. “16×16”, “32×32”
For the Lego collectors who love Batman, this set is to die for because it includes more than figurines and vehicles. I haven’t been a collector for long, but I’m a hard-core Star Wars fan since I saw Episode VI in the cinema when I was 5 years old. I didn’t know it then, but a LEGO collection was in my long distant future.
Whether it’s Brian’s Toys, a friend, or someone who responds to your add through Craigslist who will resell the sets for you, they will have to have enough wiggle-room to be able to make the deal profitable and worth their time.
With the included pieces you can build three distinct houses: a treehouse, a garage, or a regular house with the included directions. However, it is up to your own imagination to build even more different variations. Excellent set.

But after seeing the movie and understanding the importance of this ship (and how a great build it is), I changed my mind and now it’s in the fourth position of my recommended list. And believe me, you won’t get a better size/price relation with other than this set.

Your child will have a renewed interest in the things he already owns and you won’t be adding more stuff to your household. Well, besides the book. But, they are available on Kindle, so you can save space that way, too.
There are also two large LEGO Star Wars sets retiring soon. The #10236 LEGO Star Wars Ewok Village (released in 2013), and the #75059 LEGO Star Wars Sandcrawler (released in 2014) have both been around for a while, so it makes sense that LEGO is retiring them, even though they are both excellent sets. The LEGO Star Wars Ewok Village, in particular, is a great set even for non-Star Wars fans, who would like to build a nice forest scene for elves, Na’vi, or Robin Hood and his merry band of outlaws. You can find both sets under the LEGO Star Wars section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Those magazines are available for free directly from LEGO, so they don’t have much value. They sell for less than a dollar on eBay. An other problem with a collection of magazine is that they are very heavy to ship, thus expensive. You would be better off listing them on Craiglist to see if there is anyone locally who is interested, or just donate them to your local library. Kids would appreciate them. 🙂

Put the pieces in a laundry bag or pillowcase. A fine mesh clothes bag will prevent the bricks from jamming the machine, and minimize damage to the bricks from tumbling, although scratching is still possible. You may use a pillowcase if you do not have a laundry bag, but make sure to close it tightly with a zipper or a rubber band.[4]

Now you need to go to File > Import > Bricklink Set Inventory. On Category choose [All Items] and on Filter type the Millennium Falcon set number 10179. BOOM. Done. You have a list with all the parts that form this set.
I just parted out and built the Death Star II (10143), and one thing that has helped me was downloading the LDD file for the set. When you can see the 3D model and virtually take it apart, you can see what color something should be. It also helps to show what pieces will be hidden, which allow you to substitute the color if there is a huge price difference.
The Sales and Deals section of the Online LEGO Shop was recently updated with some interesting surprises. In addition, the Online LEGO Shop in the UK listed all the large sets that will be retiring soon, which is also interesting to see. Below we will take a look at both lists and see what is worth to buy before getting retired, and before the Double VIP Points period expires in a few days. So let’s begin. 🙂
What sets are the pieces from? – If you know your pieces came from specific sets, mention this in the description. If you have any instruction booklets, these can be a clue as to where the parts came from.
I do not pay attention to it. When I think of retiring soon, I think that the set will EOL in the next week to month. From what I am seeing, Lego puts the retiring soon label just to sell more of that specific set, with no indication that the set will retire soon. Also, they keep the label on for forever. I have seen labels on some sets for months, and they say that the set is retiring soon. Let’s rethink that.

Try the LEGO Adventure Book by Megan Rothrock.  Get them inspired, let them create their own thing and then sell it!  What an awesome lesson. If you ever want to save money, tell them to think like a designer and let them experience what it means to sell an idea by trying to sell their own!  My kid donated his creation to the school weekly flea market.  While he didn’t profit personally, he got major compliments at school. (WIN!)  making a name for himself and hopefully he’ll get custom orders! Hooray for geekiness!
