“affordable lego sets lego ultra agents”

Not every set has to be a flashy new model. The Y-Wing proves you don’t have to be an X-Wing to be valuable. Three hours of non-stop building and 1,473 pieces later will yield you one of the longest standing fighters in the rebel fleet. Retired in 2006 no business savvy Jawa will sell it for less than $1,400.
Have you ever thought about opening a Lego set and selling the figures and bricks separately? Find out if you can profitably part out a Lego with basic tips and how to information. Brook Johnson uses Ahch-To Island Training, set 75200 as an example.

I know some sets can be out be out for years and the average is around 18 months, but it hasn’t even been 6 months on these sets. Were these sets not well received, getting upgrades soon (for Dr Strange in Civil War), or what?
I completely understand your point Rabbit, and your right, I do like that sets hold their value, and even increase over time. Being an adult and having extra money affords me the benefit of buying more than most. As a collector though, and having no intention of ever selling, I could care less if everyone had every set. I do it to relax and enjoy, not for profit. Again, I am not knocking those that do it for profit but there are many sides to every discussion. So to sum up, for me I wouldnt mind sets being more readily available.
REALITY it’s location, location, location! What has all of our parents said to use at least a 1000 times on your life span???? “If I only kept that box it came in.” Yeah you have the the first two in the series bUT do you have the boxes for them?
If this fails you can consider your own swap options. This may include using smaller pieces in the case of replacing a large brick or using a more modern window that looks very similar and will only be noticed by those who are intimate with the set. Finally, you may try changing the color. The option of changing the color is a big one. If you are considering doing it, you want to look at all the other elements in the set that share that color. For example, I had the option of using sand-blue instead of sand-green in the #10185 LEGO Modular Green Grocer. It would have definitely been cheaper in certain areas, but there were pieces made in sand-green that weren’t made in sand-blue, so it became a less attractive option. Keep in mind that a full replacement is not always necessary. A good builder can fit in color-swaps very subtly. You will ultimately need to be the judge of how complete or modified the end model needs to be.
@ suckerpunch83 is right. All sets made by TLG are in production long enough everybody who wants it can get it. There is and always will be a problem with “my personal demand/my finance ratio” and even welthy people can’t afford to buy all sets they want. In polish language there is proverb “life is an art of choice”.
I strongly suspected the SHIELD Helicarrier would be retiring soon, so recently picked that up (and was my weekend build project). Now I have the dilemma of deciding whether to pick up an additional TIE and convert it to an Interceptor…
Is there a good site to keep track of the soon to be retired sets? I know that when the new modular comes out each January, one usually retires to be replaced by it. Was that the case this year? Closest I see is maybe the pet shop or that other similar sized one, but wasn’t sure those were in the ‘modular’ bucket.

I put two Palace Cinemas on hold at my ‘local’ lego store. They still have alot left but i wanted two. One to build and another to keep for a couple years. I got to drive an hour and a half to my nearest store though.
The Taj Mahal is the supreme ruler of the most iconic images of India. This magnificent building is ideal for a Lego replica because the four sides of the structure are perfectly identical, creating a mirrored image on each side. Here, the architectural elements of self-replicating geometry and symmetry come into play.

I haven’t tried it myself yet, since my daughter is a little young for Legos, but I’ve heard great things about Pley. It’s a monthly Lego and Duplo rental service, kind of like Netflix for Legos. It could be a great way to try some of the cool sets before you spend lots of money on them, since we all know that just because it’s expensive doesn’t mean it will hold your child’s interest. It could also cut down on clutter, since you get to use lots of new sets without having to store the old ones.
This Creator Carousel Lego set is one of the best Lego sets, and is nothing less than amazing. It should be considered a must have for all serious Lego collectors. The carousel is not just a display piece because it really spins and plays music while the intricately detailed horses and swing boats move up and down! This expensive Lego set also comes with nine figurines and over three-thousand pieces.
They just don’t know where to look, you’ll be able to get a Slave I at least until the end of 2016. The only big ones that retired at the end of last year were 76023 The Tumbler, 10240 Red Five X-Wing, and 10188 Death Star.
But while they are great for specific parts, you should only use this service for a few rare parts you can’t find anywhere else. In my experience BrickLink prices are usually 30-50% below the offical Lego prices, or even more for very common pieces.
➡ LEGO CITY VOLCANO SETS ON SALE: The LEGO City Volcano Exploration line is getting retired in favor of the recently released LEGO City Jungle Exploration theme, so most of the remaining LEGO City Volcano sets are now on sale. There are some really nice sets in the collection, like the #60125 LEGO City Volcano Heavy-Lift Helicopter, the #60124 LEGO City Volcano Exploration Base, the #60123 LEGO City Volcano Supply Helicopter, and the #60121 LEGO City Volcano Exploration Truck. You can find them under the LEGO City section, or just go to the Sales & Deals section of the Online LEGO Shop.
Thanks for these tips for buying LEGO sets. It’s good to know there are sites where I can go to compare prices. I would like my son to have his own LEGO collection, so I should do this to find the best price for a cool set for him to put together.
Since the company’s beginning in 1932, Lego has grown to be the world’s third largest toy manufacturer, and for good reason. No child or adult can resist creating their favorite monuments, figurines, ships, carousels, and many more! As for the Lego set collectors who love Star Wars, the Millennium Falcon set will keep your Jedi impulses at bay while you’re out in public. If you prefer Batman, then “Holy Cow!” you have to allow yourself to have a ball with the Batcave set! If you just want a good ‘ol pirate-ey time, then land your ship and drop your anchor on the Skull’s Eye Schooner set. Interestingly, the Lego name is derived from the two Danish words “Leg” and “Godt,” which means “play well,” and so you should.

Lego Stars Wars Imperial Assault Hovertank Retiring Soon The Star Wars Imperial Assault Hovertank is featured in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and the main character in this scene is Chirrut. Lego proudly presents the building block set for this Hovertank which allows you to experience Chirrut’s battles just like in the TV Series and …
To me “Retiring Soon” label was the latest promotional tool from S@H to entice people to buy older sets WITHOUT loss of profit (via discounts).  Since it is just a promo tool, it does not need to be 100% reliable.
Most of the remaining Harry Potter Lego sets were apparently snapped up in stores during the Christmas rush, and now it’s hard to find Harry Potter Lego sets at a reasonable price. (Evidently, it’s not a new thing for investors to buy up collectible toys like this, and resell them online for two or three times the price.) What’s a geeky Dad to do? I want to encourage creative play and nurture her individual interests, but the prices of these hard-to-find Harry Potter Legos sets are eye-popping!
A complete Lego Bionicle Piraka Avak set with instructions. Set is a vintage, discontinued, collectible Lego from 2006 that is pre-loved and complete. Includes 41 pieces. A note on aftermarket sales: This set is incredibly popular. I imagine that LEGO was surprised by the demand. The aftermarket prices have come down to ~$60, which is still way to high. But that is how a collector’s market works. Lots of people on here are rating the set low because they paid 2-3 times retail for it, which is the buyer’s fault as much as the seller’s. Many people are also upset with the behavior of sellers who list these sets at high prices, which seems really weird to me. It seems like buyers who are willing to pay those prices should be happy for the fact that the sets are available at all. Buyers that pay that much and then get bent out of shape about it need to look to themselves. Prices go up on collectibles like this because enough buyers are willing to pay for it, simple supply and demand. If you or your kid is wanting this set, just sit tight. There will be more available at retail price soon. If not, just get some LEGO bricks in Minecraft colors and make your own. You’ll be a lot happier.
The LEGO Group has revealed some of their upcoming retiring sets in 2017 on the LEGO Europe store. This is a good indicator those sets will be retired worldwide soon. Included in the list are: Ninjago sets 70605 Misfortune’s Keep… Continue Reading →
Princess Leia’s ship contains a “modest” 1,748 pieces and any rebel fighter would die to keep it out of the hands of Darth Vader. It was released in 2001 for $199.99 it’s now retired and goes for just shy of $1,000 at auction. Let qui-gons be bygones and add this iconic ship to your collection today!
A collector and investor’s review of the Lego Downtown Diner modular 10260. Brook will discus the design (0:17), value (5:36), and discover the size of the average sized brick (10:15). He will also compare it (11:30) with the Parisian Restaurant, Brick Bank, and Fire Brigade to see how it might fit in a c
