I guess if I was a buyer I would focus and getting at least 1 of the bigger sets you want, regardless of the Price (although sites like Brickset help out TREMENDOUSLY in finding sales on sets at different places) and worry about the smaller ones later, that way if the smaller one sells out you have a good chance of picking one up for a decent price later (if if discontinued)
I’m a recent convert to the cult of Lego collecting. I grew up with the toys, but was brought back into the fold as an adult. And being a huge comic book fan growing up, this DC line has been something that I’ve really looked forward to.
Over the years, several new pieces were introduced in this line as well. The new pump was spring based, and could only be operated by hand, which limited pneumatic power to how fast it could be manually pumped. This obviously limited the power of pneumatic circuits. So in 1992, LEGO introduced two new pieces; a small pump and a small cylinder. The small pump did not have a spring on it, and it was designed to be operated by a motor, which would allow for continuously-running pneumatic creations. As of 2011, the small pump has only appeared in one set — 8868 Air Tech Claw Rig (1992) (found on Peeron) — and a few parts sets (no longer available). A new version of the small pump was released in Lego set 8110 Unimog U400 (2011). At 2L, this pump’s stroke is 1/3 longer than the old one’s 1.5L, ‘L’ being the LEGO unit of a stud. This made it much easier to use in studless construction.
Odd distribution of blocks. I can see including even numbers of particular blocks, since it at least allows you to achieve some sort of symmetry to satisfy your OCD (like me) but this kit shipped with odd numbers of blocks so I found myself switching colors because i could not complete a certain part of the case due to running out of the required color of blocks.
This will be one of my favorites. I was unable to get this item from LEGO directly and I was very disappointed. I was looking for something else on Amazon and decided to look for the Mobile Crane on a whim. There it was and the price was not much above the original LEGO price <$20.00. Perfect. I has great engineering - the gear work is a marvel. I also enjoy the second item - the Reach Stacker - a lot of fun to build. Less I'm guessing 10199 is discontinued - for good this time. It was supposedly discontinued the first time in, what, December 2009? Then re-released the following year, along with the release of the Winter Bakery. Some argue it's just a seasonal release, but you can get the Winter Bakery right now. - Condition : 9.5/10, Box is sealed in protective sheet since day 1 - Self collection at lakeside MRT, Delivery to other MRT - $5 Help Batman™ and Robin repel the villains from the Batcave featuring a false bookcase, Batpoles, Bat Lab with Batcomputer, plus a Batmobile, Batcopter and 9 minifigures. Using the history of similar products, the previous retired Modular building sets hold their value very well. Examples of this include the retired 10224 Town Hall and 10197 Fire Brigade. With that said, Palace Cinema is definitely worth purchasing 10232 the Palace Cinema and this will be costly for missing out on this modular building set. These parts are all brand new and only handled for sorting, counting, and bagging, never snapped together. In late 2007, a new motor system was released. It was named Power Functions, and was first used in the set 8275 Motorized Bulldozer. The system consisted of a set of motors, two infrared receivers, a battery box, and an infrared remote control. One receiver would connect to the battery box, and the other would connect to the motors. Some of the sets listed below are still available at Lego stores worldwide, while some are out of production. But you may find retired sets listed for outrageous prices on Amazon or eBay, though, those ones are arguable the best LEGO sets. Once Lego stops selling an item, or if produced in limited quantities, third parties grab those products and jack up the price depending on demand. You’ll find Lego sets a purchase limit per customer on certain items. I've resisted the modulars, until a week ago when I caved in and ordered the Fire Brigade. I've no doubt that also buy the Emporium and the Pet Shop now too. As for whether I go back and collect the rest, I'm not sure yet, I think I'll just keep an eye out and if a bargain comes up I'll probably get it.
