“lego retired list 2016 lego brand”

@myscrnnm: On most tape-sealed LEGO boxes there is a printed production run code on one of the seals, e.g. XXS6 with XX being the week of production, with S being Europe and 6 being 2016 (or 2006). On glued boxes the code is embossed or, since recently on some sets, printed.
Lando Calrissian’s floating city of Bespin is one of the smaller classic Star Wars sets, but where else can you find a “working” carbon freezing chamber? With four distinct “play areas” and a star-studded mini-figure collection, you would be hard-pressed to have a bad feeling about this minimal set.
While most of the LEGO Star Wars faithful has now fixed their gaze on the grandest reveal that LEGO has slated this Force Friday II, it seems that we can expect more LEGO Star Wars sets to be unveiled towards the end of the year and even until the first quarter of 2018. read more
LEGO STAR WARS Millenium Falcon 7965 *Brand new sealed* This is an awesome set. Has been discontinued for a while so very hard to find these days. This is brand new un-opened MISB. Perfect for a gift for the star wars fan as it is still sealed and⁄or for the serious collector as the box is in excellent condition also. It was released available direct from Lego back 2011. This is a very cool classic set ~1250 pieces with 6 minifigures and super impressive large set when built. Lego descr
Our first entry from outside of the movies, Captain Rex’s AT-TE is a fantastic set pulled from the Star Wars Rebels animated television series.  Rex was introduced in The Clone Wars animated movie, but this set has an aging Rex from the Rebels animated series.  This set won’t appeal to everyone, as many might not follow the animated series, but for fans of the show, this AT-TE really hits the mark.  The sheer amount of cool stuff going on here should appease any Lego fan.  The spring-loaded shooters are always awesome, but this behemoth also packs on a couple of cranes, loading doors, and six moveable legs.  Moving this thing around is a lot of fun.  The minifigurines are Rex himself, of course, along with his partners Gregor and Wolffe and two Imperials two give chase; an Inquisitor Fifth Brother (with lightsaber) and Stormtrooper.  This set is a slam dunk for fans of Rebels, but is just plain fun for any Lego fan.
Yes, that’s a good resource as well. I also found their pricing much higher than BL and their selection is limited, but as you mentioned for rare pieces and expensive pieces it is worth to check. An issue with Bricks and Pieces though that is good to keep in mind is that their shipping time can take weeks as they ship directly from Denmark. So if you are in the USA, Canada, Australia, etc. it can take weeks. But yes, they should definitely be a resource to at least check out for comparison shopping.

Plus, if I’m completely honest, though I have a philosophical objection to pink legos (Lego was not a boy thing to start with!), I know that my girls enjoy having some pastel pieces in the mix. LEGO, the LEGO logo, the Minifigure, and the Brick and Knob configurations are trademarks of the LEGO Group of Companies. LEGO© is a trademark of The LEGO Company which does not sponsor, authorize or endorse this site. Sites. This item may have minor scuff marks on it, but still looks very good. WARNING – LEGO pieces are intended and rated for children 5 years and up. Be advised that LEGO parts should not be swallowed as it can present a choking hazard. Pantenkind, I do not think that the UCS would be anywhere near as popular right now if it HADN'T been discontinued. Part of it's appeal now is that you cant just go and buy it and that the longer you leave it the more expensive it may get. Perhaps the early retirement of the Ideas sets comes from the "Original Ideas" campaign; now that they've begun going for the unlicensed sets (Maze, Fishing Store) they want to distance themselves from the licensed products and take Ideas in a new direction altogether. This LEGO set is the “cheaper” version of the UCS Imperial Shuttle (10212), a set with extreme attention to detail, but already discontinued and quite complicated to find (also a bit pricey starting at $760). This is a brand new never opened Lego Hot Rod 42022 This set has been kept in a smoke and pet free house in excellent condition. I will ship this set in 1 business day to 48 contiguous states. Please ... You are wrong about the Star Destroyer.  You mention it has 1367 pieces, but since I have this set, I know it has over 3,000 pieces.  It has 3104 pieces.  Not a bad guess though.  Only about 2,000 pieces off.   ;D I guess if I was a buyer I would focus and getting at least 1 of the bigger sets you want, regardless of the Price (although sites like Brickset help out TREMENDOUSLY in finding sales on sets at different places) and worry about the smaller ones later, that way if the smaller one sells out you have a good chance of picking one up for a decent price later (if if discontinued) Hm… that’s an interesting point. And very well could be. I do remember hearing that LEGO will rename the Disney Princess line to simply Disney. Looks like this is going to be a much bigger theme for LEGO, not just pink castles for girls. I expect more awesome sets on the level of the Disney Castle. But we will see… 🙂 It comes with 24 minifigures and several versions of your favorites, which allows you to reenact the most iconic scenes in any one of the numerous backdrops on board the Death Star. And there are many. I also like to create a completely new Wanted List for each project and leave my default main Wanted List open for miscellaneous wants. Once the list is populated, you may want to take a moment to compare the list to the set’s inventory page. When I put together my Wanted List for the #10195 LEGO Modular Market Street, to my surprise, a few parts were left off because they had a MID (Matching Part ID). Turns out that in this instance the system did not know which part to add, so it did not add either. For those who are confused, you are not alone. MID parts are parts that look and act exactly how you might need them in a set. There are small differences, but nothing that matters when it comes to the set you are working on. For example, a bus that uses white train windows can use the ones that have or don’t have shutter-holes. The parts look nearly identical except for this very minor difference. However, a set like the #10190 LEGO Modular Market Street uses shutters in the white train windows so only one type will work. Essentially, you need to make sure that the system did not leave off any parts. It is very annoying when you get around to building to find that you are missing a single part that is not terribly rare, but you just don’t have it. They don't always discontinue them-- the example I can think of is probably the Star Destroyer, which was around longer than LEGO initially expected, thanks to excellent sales. They offered it in catalogs from at least 2002 to 2007 (6 years). If they offered the UCS MF that long, it would be in catalogs until at least 2012! Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) is a service we offer sellers that lets them store their products in Amazon's fulfillment centers, and we directly pack, ship, and provide customer service for these products. Something we hope you'll especially enjoy: FBA items qualify for FREE Shipping and Amazon Prime. I’ve definitely heard of rebrick but have never used it personally. I’m not sure how it would work for me since I’m both a builder and collector and therefore have two catagories of LEGO pieces. One is strictly to stay with the sets and everything else is building material. However, it is the perfect solution for those who may not have a seperation and can get more milage out of their collection. I’m glad I got a copy of the pet shop before it retired. It’s so versatile even if you only have one copy of the set. I furnished the Brownstone house and expanded the apartment up top to have a twin minifigure bed and a bathroom with shower. Sadly you can’t modify the interior’s of the new modulars as easily without taking away original elements. I guess the top floor of the Parisian Restaurant can qualify as I turned it into a second apartment. My favorites are The LEGO Adventure Book, volume 1 and volume 2. These full-color books show brick-by-brick how to build the different models. They are a little simpler than the more sophisticated The Unofficial Lego Builder’s Guide that I bought the boys a few years ago. Now that he has it open, it is a VERY impressive Lego set with 24 "little men" as they're called in our house. There are not just bags of Legos but boxes of Legos at it is such a large set with over 3,800 pieces. The directions are in a spiral bound book, which could make the task of putting the set together look daunting, but he's loving it. I'm loving that here it is mid-January and he's still putting it together. [redirect url='http://Discontinued-Items.com/bump' sec='7']

We are pleased to welcome you to our new permanent Bricktraders Shop for fans of LEGO® Bricks, LEGO® Sets and LEGO® minifigures. Its been a long time coming but we are now open at 57 Catherine Street, St Albans 5 days a week.
We have ZERO items in Sales & Deals here in the UK. The USA & Canada both have 37 sale items in Lego online shop. Doesn’t really seem fair, that the rest of world cannot grab a bargain from the Lego online store. Really annoying, because at the end of the day all customers should be treated the same!!
I strongly suspected the SHIELD Helicarrier would be retiring soon, so recently picked that up (and was my weekend build project). Now I have the dilemma of deciding whether to pick up an additional TIE and convert it to an Interceptor…

I am currently awaiting for a lot of Bricklink orders to to be delivered, covering the building-from-spare-parts of… 2.5 modulars ^^” Those are Cafe Corner, right-half of Market Street and Fire Brigade (I already had a lot of Dark Red bricks and tiles so it was a no-brainer !). Thus, having spent a lot of time and money in the process, I can confirm absolutely everything I just read in this article 😉 From Wanted Lists tips to problems with parts, I went through all of it, so it’s very pleasing and reassuring to know that other people have experienced that.
Bigger, maybe but a different question. I would imagine why they remove them entirely is because by leaving the items in and just marking them “sold out” or whatever would be confusing to non-collectors or would solicit a ton of “When will you get more X?” questions. – Nathan Stohlmann Jan 2 ’12 at 15:19
Princess Leia’s ship contains a “modest” 1,748 pieces and any rebel fighter would die to keep it out of the hands of Darth Vader. It was released in 2001 for $199.99 it’s now retired and goes for just shy of $1,000 at auction. Let qui-gons be bygones and add this iconic ship to your collection today!
LEGO Friends- City Park Cafe – Frown all you want at the pink but be aware that there are lots of special little pieces here like a cash register, money, broom, salt and pepper shaker  (awwww), forks, knives!  Check out curvy glass panels! Wow! You could rebuild this into many things!
Dang, I was hoping to save money to get something like the Sandcrawler or the Ewok Village. I am also shocked to see Dr. Who and The Big Bang Theory up on that list to. I wonder if Lego is having supply issues again, or if demand is so high it brought about a fast end of those projects.
LEGO is doing some pretty major summer clearance right now at the Online LEGO Shop, including some very nice medium to large sets that are getting retired. Below I will highlight some of the most noteworthy ones, and you can check out the rest at the Sales & Deals section of the Online LEGO Shop. Please note that once stock is out on retiring soon sets, LEGO won’t be making any more, so make sure you don’t miss out. 🙂
How odd about the opera house. The bridge has been out forever and is still being made. The opera house is much younger. I wanted to buy it but I don’t think I’ll be able to if it retires so soon. Boo.
A special should be noted about substituting inner foundational pieces. Rare pieces go right out the window when it comes to these. Many times the designers add these to give fans unique pieces to play with, but if they are never seen then you’ll spend a lot for very little return.

Design: This set uses a modular design. If you follow the instructions, you get eight distinct modules, four above ground and four below ground. You can arrange these in dozens of different ways to create tiny cave networks and a multi-layered effect. The caves have several different kinds of hidden resources that you can only see when you take the top layer off. The overall effect of the design is a pretty good representation of the Minecraft world.
Brand new sealed, never got around to it so it’s up for sale. Camaro Drag Race set is actually discontinued and the average on eBay is anywhere from $72-100 posted – I just want my money back. Audi Set is sold. Price is not negotiable. Pick up at Woodcroft
If you want to see what sells well, check out Brick Picker—it’s the industry clearinghouse. Its forums and price guide are the best resource online. “It’s just like the market,” Maciorowski says, repeating his mantra. “You’ve got to do your research.”
Star Wars fans are no joke. They live, breathe and would eat all-things Star Wars if they can! In 1999, LEGO started to make Star Wars sets and figures and since then, these sets have become hot items for collectors. For the past 12 years, there have been more than 200 sets, and some of them have pretty high price tags, selling for well over $1,000. Since there are too many to list, we thought we’d feature 22 of the coolest Star Wars LEGO sets around!
LEGO has released several Imperial Shuttle sets over the years, with the current 75094 Imperial Shuttle Tydirium being the clear best, non-UCS model. This set will be retiring later in 2016 and is potentially one of the best non-exclusive sets to… Continue Reading →

We all know one proven way to invest in LEGO bricks is to look for big sales and great deals on LEGO sets that are still currently available at retail, then flip them several year later for a profit. Another great way to invest in LEGO bricks is to scour eBay and look for older and retired sets that are still having positive gains month after month and do the same thing. The trick is finding those older and retired sets without too much trouble. Here is our solution. Below is a list of the Top Performing “Old and Retired” LEGO sets over the past six months. All 50 LEGO sets on the list have been produced in 2008 or earlier. When displaying the sets from the USA eBay listings, there is a 20% range added to the current market value. For all other country feeds, the high price range is twice the current value and the low price range is half of the current value. When testing, this was returning some decent results. Our goal here is to help find these top performing sets that are still consistently increasing in value and showing you current eBay listings within a close price range of it’s current market value. It is our wish that you utilize this data to diversify your Brickfoilio and to help you find some hidden gems that will make you some money in the secondary LEGO market.
You are wrong about the Star Destroyer.  You mention it has 1367 pieces, but since I have this set, I know it has over 3,000 pieces.  It has 3104 pieces.  Not a bad guess though.  Only about 2,000 pieces off.   ;D
As your kids grow up, they won’t want to look at a house with 6 different color bricks but I don’t think they realize that this is why they aren’t satisfied with their LEGO stash.  This is one reason why they veer towards the kits.  Their tastes are more complicated. They want art!  But instead of crying as you buy set after set, try committing to a couple of colors and just keep buying those.  Get inspired by Nathan Sawaya’s Book: The Art of Nathan Sawaya or visit The Art of the Brick Exhibit at Discovery Times Square.  If you’ll be there on Sunday August 3rd look out for me!  Read more about Nathan Sawaya in my last post about LEGO Cuusoo and Small Yellow.

Unfortunately I’ve never seen Legos sold (bricks or sets) at any garage sales or thrift stores around here or I would have snatched them up. My mother had saved my original set so we started with that. My daughter loves the little Lego Friends figurines. We’ve successfully bought a couple of times off eBay. I think only once was it missing one of the pieces (not evident unless you consulted the manual). Let friends know you’re interested in Legos – sometimes they’re downsizing and will hand them off for free or a great price. When you do have to buy new, watch for sales throughout the year; we snagged a larger Lego Friends set at Target way back in September. It was a one-day only 40% off special.

I think you would have to look at it in an entrepreneur/business man’s point of view to understand it. If people aren’t buying enough of the sets to keep a good profit after a few years, Lego might find that they would make more money using the same pieces if they were to discontinue the set and release a new one people would buy more of. If you already have an old set that is still on the market, there wouldn’t be much point in buying a second or third. (assuming its for personal use.)

Also, the Architecture series is a great source of models to build from spare parts. The best example is Marina Bay Sands : I managed to build it for approx. $80, whereas it goes for $800 in the market. And it was delighful 😀
Great product, best suited for those age 10 and up, I would say. I bought this for my almost 6 year old son and we definitely had to help him build. The detail is amazing and product as expected, but it was overwhelming for him without lots of help. He had a blast once we were involved, but I would probably buy the Juniors versions for his age from now on, unless I plan on working on it too. He’s very proud of it though!
Legos are a nostalgic part of everyone s childhood, yet they are still very relevant. New sets of based on popular film, television, and even video game franchises are being released at a steady…

We are a company of Lego enthusiasts whose aim is to sell discontinued Lego products for the cheapest price that is possible. We often have some of the best Lego deals in the UK, especially on rare and hard to find sets. As we are collectors and huge fans of Lego ourselves, we are different to the large retailers who sell a variety of products. We have a passion for keeping our products in great condition and will never send out products that are not suitable to give as presents. We have been collecting Lego for many years now and our collection consists of the entire Lego Architecture range, VW Beetle, VW Camper, a couple of Ferrari’s, (Lego ones, not real ones), loads of Minifigures and much, much more.
Our house is swimming with LEgos. a lot of times when my girls see a new set they really only want the minifigures. SO i buy just the minifigures of bricklink and they are thrilled. I save money and they are happy.
Jabba’s Palace depicts the Star Wars scene where Princess Leia attempts to infiltrate Jabba the Hutt’s palace in order to rescue Han Solo, who is imprisoned in carbonite. It’s a well-done, atmospheric set that’s fun to build, with excellent minifigs and good playability.
This step will be the most tedious process of the whole project, However a Wanted List is a crucial step. It allows for fast and easy searches of stores and can enable some quick filtering. Additionally, there are LEGO fans out there who have made free software available that takes care of all the BrickLink searching for you in regards to best combination of prices and shipping fees. For more information on this check out the BrickLink forums.

This tower contains four levels. The base of the tower contains a rear door for the King to escape if his castle falls. The 2nd floor contains the King’s throne, a bottle and a chalice. Above that is a treasure room, with a chest filled with gold and rubies. The top of the tower has a torch, and space for the archers to stand.
The highly prized LEGO Ideas NASA  Apollo Saturn V (21309) may probably still sit on the top of our must have LEGO sets of the year, but unfortunately, in spite of the relative early shelf life of this set since its release last June, the availability of the Apollo Saturn V has been notoriously close to none. True, we have the reassuring words from the LEGO Ideas Team that the set will not be retired right away given that it has only been three months in circulation since its release in June 1. There were also moments when the NASA Apollo Saturn V set has been available at LEGO shop@home on very seldom occasions. However, the obvious unavailability of the set for weeks has cast a shadow of a doubt on the truth behind the availability of this highly sought after set. read more

There are a lot of reasons that LEGO might stop producing a set, and I would assume it’s a balance between the cost of doing production runs of the necessary pieces, the projected volume of sales, and their availability of SKUs.

If you are like me, and have a lot of loose parts in your own collection that you want to use it putting together a set, the process can be daunting. So it is a good idea to first have your own LEGO collection sorted and stored property. Thanks to my wife’s help, our LEGO elements are sorted first by color then by part type. So a great way for me to start pulling parts for the project is to change the filter options on the BrickLink Wanted List to show by color rather than piece type. This allows me to work through several colors, then have the option of stopping at any time.

The large scale figurines be hit or miss, honestly.  Some of them can really get so far away from the classic Lego minifigurine that they can feel pretty far off for a Lego traditionalist.  However, even for a grumpy minifiguring fanboy, it is easy to see the appeal when they get it right.  A shining example is the Scout Trooper and Speeder Bike set.  The Speeder is of course one of the coolest vehicles in the original trilogy, landing in Return of the Jedi’s Battle of Endor.  The speeder features a spring-loaded shooter and a few other cool details like movable flaps.  The Speeder is sturdy and the Trooper fits on quite well with the handlebars and foot rests seating him nicely.  This is a set that can handle some action, it is light, lean, and fun.  Not the most challenging or lengthy build out there, but the end result is a must have for any Star Wars fan.
Hm… that’s an interesting point. And very well could be. I do remember hearing that LEGO will rename the Disney Princess line to simply Disney. Looks like this is going to be a much bigger theme for LEGO, not just pink castles for girls. I expect more awesome sets on the level of the Disney Castle. But we will see… 🙂

After binging on Legos for many years, I’ve come up with the best Star Wars sets out today. I’ve used my own experience for the basis of my lists but have also scoured the web for reviews, input and ratings and combined them all for your easy consumption.
Also, remember that LEGO is offering Double VIP Points until the end of October. This is the best time to get large sets to maximize your VIP Points. There will be another Double VIP Points period in December, but by that time many of these retiring sets could be gone.
If this fails you can consider your own swap options. This may include using smaller pieces in the case of replacing a large brick or using a more modern window that looks very similar and will only be noticed by those who are intimate with the set. Finally, you may try changing the color. The option of changing the color is a big one. If you are considering doing it, you want to look at all the other elements in the set that share that color. For example, I had the option of using sand-blue instead of sand-green in the #10185 LEGO Modular Green Grocer. It would have definitely been cheaper in certain areas, but there were pieces made in sand-green that weren’t made in sand-blue, so it became a less attractive option. Keep in mind that a full replacement is not always necessary. A good builder can fit in color-swaps very subtly. You will ultimately need to be the judge of how complete or modified the end model needs to be.
Making the list as one of the 7 most expensive Lego sets, this stunning model of the Eiffel Town was released in 2007 and is built to 1:100 scale from the original blueprints. This set includes realistic and enchanting features and details such as a flag at the top of the elevators, four lifts toward the bottom of the tower that transport figurines from the base to the center section, and a small, brick-built French flag. It holds the record for the tallest Lego structure produced into a set and contains over three-thousand pieces!
The following chart shows the lifespans for modern Star Wars UCS sets, beginning with the infamous Millenium Falcon from 2007. We have excluded data from prior to this because LEGO set lifespans were considerably different a decade ago and thus that data should not be considered relevant when evaluating future retirements. Note that this chart and the lists below contain large Star Wars sets that may not have been officially designated as UCS sets — such as 10188 Death Star and 10236 Ewok Village — but rather than debate the semantics of the UCS moniker, we have opted to simply include all large, exclusive Star Wars sets from 2007 onwards.

Legos and Star Wars. Is there a more perfect match to be made in Lego licensing heaven? To many people, no, there isn’t as both long running brands bring to mind very specific sets of nostalgia. It is no surprise that Lego choose Star Wars as the first licensing set in their product line back in 1999 (it debuted along with Winnie the Pooh Duplo that same year). The original release coincided with the release of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Lego would continue rolling out sets tied to the latest movies while also producing classics from the original trilogy. The results are sets spanning eight theatrical movie releases (soon to be nine with The Last Jedi), and additional television shows. As far as licensed themes go, Star Wars has a long history in the Lego world.

Oh, and finally, if you’re collecting it, they tend to only come out with one a year, so that’s only 6 cents a day coming out of your wallet to stay up to date. (It’s a different story if you’re bent on getting missed sets of course, but you don’t need to. Get the stuff that is out now.)
An absolute classic, the Grand Carousel consists of 3,263 pieces, and thanks to an in-built motor it can actually rotate. And it plays music while it does. It’s intended for aged 16 and up, and it would look great in any LEGO collection. Fun fact: It comes with an ultra rare extra large baseplate. What more motivation do you need?
This Creator Carousel Lego set is one of the best Lego sets, and is nothing less than amazing. It should be considered a must have for all serious Lego collectors. The carousel is not just a display piece because it really spins and plays music while the intricately detailed horses and swing boats move up and down! This expensive Lego set also comes with nine figurines and over three-thousand pieces.

Furthermore, to define what we mean by “biggest” the list considers those Lego with the largest amounts of pieces and/or final completed size of the set. As far as “challenging,” most of the sets listed below are suggested for builders aged 16 or older, although I’ve personally seen kids half that age cranking out 1,000+ piece sets with hardly any difficulty.

It looks like an RV. This isn’t one of the blocky, square, thrown-together-in-eight-steps vehicles I remember from my childhood; this is a vehicle that you’d be excused for mistaking it as real at first glance. The lines are fluid and very RV-like, and the decals not only match the green and dark tan lines on the sides but look like they could very easily be the decals gracing a real-life RV. The hanging side mirrors are also a very clever touch. But, for all its realism, it hasn’t lost any playability. I would have loved this set as a kid. The side swings open and the top pops off for ease of play, the canoe fits securely on the top, and I absolutely love the design of the double bed in the “back”. The cab can easily be modded so that the driver is on the right side instead of the left, for our fellow LEGO fans across the pond. As you can see in the photo I’ve uploaded, all of the canoe paraphernalia (the oars and lifejackets) fit easily in the roof compartment. (My set came with three oars instead of the expected two, I suppose in case I lost or broke one.) The canoe itself is also extremely well manufactured — a solid block of plastic, it’s shaped like a canoe and is very sturdy, not flimsy at all, and could easily fit three minifigs instead of just the included two. Speaking of minifigs, the included couple is cute, with very attractive “outdoorsy” outfits and dynamic facial expressions.
The façade of the building features pink-and-teal 20th Century Art Deco-phase of styling with a large pink ‘DINER’ sign. Though Streamline Moderne style architecture first emerged in the 1930s this modular has a more 1950s-style color treatment than the general era of previous Modulars (~1930s). Other external features include arched linteled windows, balconies and a wrought iron-style exterior staircase and a detailed sidewalk, complete with mailbox, parking meter, flower pots and the iconic white streetlamp of the Modular collection. It’s the third Modular set to include a vehicle– this time a 1950’s-style convertible automobile recalling an homage to Elvis Presley’s pink Cadillacs. (One of the minifigures also features an Elvis-style of pompadour hairstyle.)

Lego EXTREME!!! Tons of pieces make this an awesome build for the advanced builder in your house. The outriggers motorize in, out, up, and down. The boom motorizes on the telescope in and out with boom up and down. The block is motorized as well. Freaking great! Great birthday gift from the family!!
Lego, like any company, has to periodically thin their line in order to make room for new sets. Production of parts can only occur at a particular rate and if too many sets are in production, they can’t meet the production of them all. Additionally, there’s only so much life that molds have and some sets which use unique molds are not likely to be continued beyond the lifespan of the mold. Once it breaks, they have to weigh the time and cost of replacing them to the time and money they will spend doing so as opposed to the money that could be made making a new mold for a new set altogether.
Update edit: The pieces arrived about 30 minutes after this review was posted. They took 2 weeks as stated. I’d give this product 5 stars but for the glitch, and now the glitch seems to have been resolved. The delivery of the missing pieces from Legos was free of charge, of course.
Green Grocer differs from the previous two sets in the series because it has a greater level of detail inside. Whereas Café Corner and Market Street had bare interiors, each floor in Green Grocer contains a prop such as a standup radiator or some furniture such as a grandfather clock. The first floor is fully furnished as grocery store, with refrigerated shelves with opening doors and cartons of food. The assortment of Lego food pieces in the grocery includes carrots, apples and bananas. There’s also a stairway to the apartment above, and a mailbox set with letters.[14]
Bought this for my 7 year old son for Christmas. He put it together the next day. I also bought the Black Champion Racer Model Kit that can be combined with this one. He hasn’t build the combo yet. He was surprised that it would pull back and go pretty far. Ran into the wall a few times and it didn’t fall apart.

I cannot describe how amazing this model is once you’ve built it and have it in front of you. It’s outright imposing due to its size. While not to scale to the typical lego mini figure it exhibits exceptional detail and is an absolute looker. It is definitely one of the most amazing lego assemblies that are purchasable and it definitely looks more like a display show piece than a toy. With the easy to follow instructions it will take you around 8 – 10 hours, depending on how efficient you are in sorting and assembling. Some owners have complained about things falling off when they move it around but I think that’s highly exaggerated and should not take anything away from a 5-star rating since this model is mostly for display and not for actual playing (it’s not to scale anyway). It is mostly very well constructed with a solid base frame. But sure, if you play rough with it or apply pressure on the spoilers at the back or let your kids play with it, things can fall off.
This classic three-storey town hall building is the latest addition to the LEGO Modular Buildings series. This highly-detailed model features large entrance-way columns and coat of arms, a tall bell tower with clock and a large skylight giving a view inside the building. On the ground floor, the large hall, tax office and auditorium are perfect for servicing the town’s citizens. Take the working elevator up to the secretary and mayor’s offices on the second floor, furnished eloquently with desks, chairs, paintings and even a frog sculpture. There’s even a balcony for addressing the town’s citizens. On the third floor, a spacious meeting room features a large conference table, chairs, globe and plants. Includes 8 minifigures: mayor, secretary, bride and groom, press woman, janitor and 2 children.
These modular sets also have eye appeal, which helps in their increasing value… but I’m always careful of new items as investments…. one has only to look at the very collectible Princess Diana Beanie Babies…. and their once high demand.
My seven year old will love this gift for approximately two hours, then play with it for two hours, then fiddle with the characters for an hour and then never look at it again. But it’s the only toy he likes, so what are you gonna do. I mean I got Luke Skywalker and his land speeder in 1977 and did not play with anything else until 1984. But times have changed.

I first received it on Mar. 19th and found one motor missing in the original package. So I contacted the service and they shipped a new one to me immediately. Since I opened the package I got shocked for its wheels. Much bigger than the EV3 education ones and 42009. I will update after I received the new one.
The following graph shows the lifespans of all modular buildings, both retired ones and currently available sets. Using this data from past sets, we can better assess the retirement risk of currently available modular buildings.
Select items that are not included in ShippingPass will ship for free but with value shipping. Look for items sold by Walmart.com and marked with FREE shipping. You will also see this noted in checkout.
I would also like to add to this that the Modulars are actually really cheap compared to other LEGO sets. The price per piece ratio is much smaller, and also it is amazing how large, detailed and substantial the buildings are! After I put together mine I was thinking that there is no way I could build a MOC of comparable size for the same price by BrickLink-ing the parts.

Another beautiful landmark in LEGO form here, thanks to the expert-level LEGO Creator range. This Sydney Opera House build measures up at 2,989 pieces. The shape of the building itself, with all its angled walls, makes this a hefty challenge even for a seasoned master builder.

“lego creator parisian restaurant cheap _lego building sets cheap”

The style of Lego Technic sets has been changing over time. Technic sets produced since the year 2000 use a different construction method, described as “studless construction”. (Studs are the small circular knobs which appear on traditional Lego bricks.) This method utilises beams and pins rather than Technic bricks.
Once the scene is set up, all your player has to do is dodge the robot penguins and grab the diamond! The set includes exclusive Scuba Batman and The Penguin minifigures with weapons and assorted accessories; including a harpoon, umbrella, and dynamite.
If your argument may be that you do not have the funds, then I would purchase the remaining sets for resale because I guarantee that you will get your money back and then some. You can always change your mind from selling it new, to building it and then selling it used at more than what you paid for.

The set does have a lot of play value, again making it better suited for kids than adult Lego fans. The submersible robot and helicopter are both sturdy builds and fit well on the boat (which transports them). The lighthouse is grossly, hilariously out of scale, but I won’t complain about a blue plate getting tossed into this set. The minifigs are pretty standard, though I like the radio headset the one Coast Guard minifig wears.
I have all 5 sets in my collection. I passed on the Market Street originally because I didn’t think that it belonged with the other 2 building…. I was wrong. So instead, I like so many others went back and purchased the set… piece by piece on Bricklink. Unfortunately you can’t do that now since certain rare pieces are going for $10/brick.
These pieces used a special kind of one-way valve inside of them, and three ports on the outside. The leftmost port could only have air going into it, no air would ever come out. The middle port could have air going in or out. The right port could only have air coming out of it, no air could go into it.
If you think they’re cool, then buy them. You don’t have to collect all of them in order to enjoy the ones that are available. If you’re the sort of completist who needs to own every one of them, then maybe avoid it. But otherwise resign yourself to the fact that you’re not going to own every single one of them, just as most of us have resigned ourselves to the fact that we’re not going to be able to buy every single Lego set out there, and just enjoy what’s available.

From her crown to her torch, The Statue of Liberty is an iconic monument and symbol of freedom from tyranny, financial hardship, and suffering for many immigrants since the late 1800’s. @Istokg: I don’t understand your argument that the Modulars (in minifig scale) are overpriced when compared to 70s and earlier era Town Plan scale sets. Yes, they are priced more, but that doesn’t mean they are overpriced (priced higher than their value). The larger scale translates to more pieces, which allows for greater detail. The difference in price is a result of a tangible, concrete increase in bricks.
For shoppers:  Purchasing any of these high-quality sets is easy–just visit Amazon! Please note that we sometimes get a commission through purchases made through our links.  Also note that our recommendations are 100% made because we love the companies and products and are never influenced in any way by any commission we may receive.
OTHER INFLUENCES. I often browse what other people are building and sometimes it informs my process.  I make no secret of this.  Much like the ‘portaloo’ is lifted from a Lego set (Service Truck 60073-1) there are other elements of the build that have roots in other ideas.  The cement mixer used by the BRICKLAYER is from set 5610-1 (a small set from 2008 – now it has a home) I also came across some brilliant vignettes on LEGO IDEAS.
Using the history of similar products, the previous retired Modular building sets hold their value very well. Examples of this include the retired 10224 Town Hall and 10197 Fire Brigade. With that said, Palace Cinema is definitely worth purchasing 10232 the Palace Cinema and this will be costly for missing out on this modular building set. Let us know what do you think and leave your comment below.
I’ve always been a fan of the Town Plan system… not just because I grew up with it, but also I like the very high quality (and very expensive and collectible today) 1:87 vehicles and other accessories that gave it a more realistic look than much of the LEGO of today. I dislike the conical and spherical trees of today… but find the larger use of “greenery canopy” MOC trees very nicely done. And I dislike many of the modern LEGO cars made for the minifigs as looking too “cartoonish”… although I do like the newer LEGO trains very much.

For Lego collectors seeking the best and most expensive Lego sets, this set is one to get your hands on. One customer wrote, “This is my favorite so far. It was great seeing this fully [built] and sitting majestically on the cabinet. My friend suggested it may need some lights. Next time I put it together I may try adding a few light bricks inside so there will be a bit of a glow from it.” He may be referencing the fact that the Taj Mahal takes on different hues according to the time of the day; a pinkish color in the morning, a milk white in the evening, and a golden color at night.

There is a town house with the Pet Shop. If by “town house” you meant a stand-alone residential building, that wouldn’t fit with the street as you will rarely see such structures in a city, as opposed to suburban or rural, street.
Would buy and recommend for Lego lovers. Are they over-priced…. well, maybe. Legos are not cheap, and they have escalated the pricing a bit as the popularity increases… so some are not happy about that. Me? If I did not want to pay the price, then I would not buy them. One thing for sure, resale is good – that says a lot!!
The main reason why sets like Cafe Corner go through the roof when discontinued is because no one buys them (mostly because of cost), they then get discontinued, then all of the sudden those who were waiting for a sale to get them cheap now need to go buy one, causing a price to raise…

The TECHNIC theme is characterized by the presence of TECHNIC bricks, axles, gears, connector pegs, and many other parts rarely seen in typical LEGO System sets. TECHNIC is still currently an active theme, and is one of the longest-lasting themes in LEGO history.
The Town Hall (set # 10224) is the largest set of all of the modular buildings. It is also the only one which includes an elevator which is a lot of fun. The inside is fully decorated with a Mayor’s office, board room, town hall meeting area etc. for a lot of fun Lego role play! This one may have a bit of a “boxy” feel from the outside but the interior is fabulous. I especially love the bride and groom complete with wedding photographer!
In recent years, System sets have begun to adopt previously TECHNIC-exclusive parts, particularly in Exclusives and Star Wars sets. Many modern sets, including TECHNIC sets themselves, blur the distinction between the two systems to a considerable degree.
DUPLO: DUPLO sets are designed to get babies building from the age of 18 months all the way up to 5 years old. These LEGO bricks are much larger so that they are easier for little hands to maneuver and do not pose a choking hazard. Many of these sets feature character favorites like Cars, Disney princesses, and Batman.

I think a hospital or school might be too large. Instead of a hospital I could imagine a health clinic (pharmacy, dentist, general practitioner) . Instead of a school I could picture a childcare centre (play equipment, nursery, kid’s art projects).
Arkham Asylum is a fantastic set. Absolutely! I think almost any set that you want to include that “fits” modular building works. I don’t want to say it, but in some cases, even Olivia’s House might be ok.

The hellicarrier is being retired soon as well. I’d also expect the Silent Mary to have a limited run and be retired next year. The Batcace which did not do as well is on its way out. And good bye to Hoth which was not well received. Additionally, Lego sold 16,000 UCS milleniaks Falcons within hours of the VIP release yesterday.
Or you could do what I did. I am an overly avid castle fan. My wife helped build a few sets with me like the Medieval Market Village. I bought the Grand Emporium for her (she loves shopping). She loved building it and quite honestly I was astounded by all the intricacies. There is so much detail just to the Grand Emporium alone that I know we will be buying the others.
Downtown Diner (set number: 10260) is the thirteenth set in the Modular Building line. It was released on 1 January, 2018 and contain 2,480 pieces with a MSRP of US$169/149€. This building reintroduces the teal color (what LEGO calls Bright Blueish Green) that hadn’t been in production since 2008. The first level of this building is a 1950s-style diner. It has a curved front window, red bar stools, a classic bubbler-style jukebox, soda fountain-equipped counter, and an open-plan kitchen.
The prices may be steep, but if LEGO City is your thing, these building may very well be a perfect substitute as opposed to the entire City genre. And if you’ve got some real $$$, it’ll probably be wise to buy multiple of the same modulars – one for yourself, and the other to sell later at 2x $ so to “pay for” your first building through those profits.
