For Lego collectors seeking the best and most expensive Lego sets, this set is one to get your hands on. One customer wrote, “This is my favorite so far. It was great seeing this fully [built] and sitting majestically on the cabinet. My friend suggested it may need some lights. Next time I put it together I may try adding a few light bricks inside so there will be a bit of a glow from it.” He may be referencing the fact that the Taj Mahal takes on different hues according to the time of the day; a pinkish color in the morning, a milk white in the evening, and a golden color at night.
Rubber bands – Rubber bands can have various uses in TECHNIC sets. They can be used for pulleys by connecting two pulley wheels, and can form tire treads if one loops a small rubber band around a single large wheel.

I have only bought new modulars for list price, so I can’t advise too much here. Which modulars will you be bricklinking? I imagine that CC, MS and GG will be incredibly expensive no matter how you get them since I have heard that some of the parts (I think the blues in CC and the sand green in GG) are quite expensive. I seem to remember people saying it is cheaper to bricklink though.
My 8 year old son got this for his birthday and loved it. It went together pretty easily for him. It is a little slow moving but works beautifully. Maybe a little pricey for the use that it will get, but otherwise a winner.
The F40 set is, in many ways, similar to what is included with the Architecture. The entire design of the car is well-executed, with the replica of the F40 being as accurate as a Lego set can be. Despite the relatively small-size—the set measures in at 3″ tall, 10″ long, and 5″ wide when built, weighing in at about 3 pounds or so—Lego has done everything in their power to build a set that accurately and faithfully recreates the F40. The set features a rear spoiler, body-work including the standard Ferrari logo, pop-up headlights, air intakes along the side of the vehicle, and a rear hatch complete with vents that opens to reveal the classic twin-turbocharged, 90 degree V8 engine known around the world for powering Ferrari’s legendary limited-run coupe. The vehicle build even has doors that can be opened, crafted door handles to match the original, a steering wheel, and two internal seats. The front of the model is protected by a clear windshield piece, and both an actionable hood and spinning tires make the car feel all the more real. Even with that small size, the car is built with over 1,100 pieces, an impressive number that is sure to keep multitudes of car lovers busy for hours and hours building.
OTHER INFLUENCES. I often browse what other people are building and sometimes it informs my process.  I make no secret of this.  Much like the ‘portaloo’ is lifted from a Lego set (Service Truck 60073-1) there are other elements of the build that have roots in other ideas.  The cement mixer used by the BRICKLAYER is from set 5610-1 (a small set from 2008 – now it has a home) I also came across some brilliant vignettes on LEGO IDEAS.
Your toddler will squeal with delight when the Power Wheels Batman Lil’ Quad is sitting outside ready for him/her to take a ride! It’s an ATV for our smallest of adventurers and they’ll feel like their favorite superhero their entire time out on the road.
Parisian Restaurant (set number 10243) is the ninth set in the Modular Building line and was released in January 2014 at a MSRP of US$159/149€. This set contains 2469 pieces and has a fully stocked, blue and white tiled kitchen with tableware serving two interior tables, two street-side tables (on a patio tiled in a subtle design with the word “CHEZ”), and two upper terrace tables. On the first upper floor (terrace level) is as an apartment with pull-down Murphy bed, kitchenette and fireplace. On the top floor is the artist’s studio that includes a cast iron heater, easel, paintbrush and two works of Mondrian-style Modernist art. Outside the upper floor stairs lead down to the roof terrace for diners lined with hanging lanterns and flowers. This set also includes hard-to-find white croissants and brick elements in olive green, dark blue and dark red. Advanced exterior details include façade with croissant detailing, sidewalk, bench, scooter and even a dumpster and trash can at the back.
This set has now been retired by Lego. The box has never been opened with tape seals intact as shown. Features of the Lego 10197 Set The fire brigade drives to the scene from this detailed and realist…
Lego Technic is a line of Lego interconnecting plastic rods and parts. The purpose of this series is to create more advanced models with more complex technical functions, compared to the simpler brick-building properties of normal LEGO.
This one certainly isn’t for the faint of heart, but for fantasy geeks or lovers of J.R.R. Tolkien (or the films based on his work), Lego’s Lord of the Rings series has some seriously awesome constructions available for design, and our favorite is the Tower of Orthanc set. This tower will be immediately recognizable to any Tolkien fan who’s read the books and seen the movies—it’s featured heavily throughout the series, and is an important part of Middle Earth’s lore. The price isn’t cheap—at $269, you’re dropping some serious cash for the ability to build a pretty cool set. But at 2,300 pieces, six detailed floor designs within the tower itself, a light bright included within the piece, five minifigures, and a tower measure over 2 feet tall, we think this is one of the coolest sets you can buy for your inner nerd, or for someone who simply loves the movies or book series. Lord of the Rings is a series of novels and movies that will never fade from popularity; both are so well-constructed, they’ll only grow in popularity throughout the next few decades as more and more people embrace fantasy works. So why not grab a piece of Rings lore, and build the Tower of Orthanc. It’s unfortunately a discontinued set, so hurry over to Amazon before they run out and another set drives up to thousands of dollars on eBay.
