The Super Star Destroyer is a massive Lego set with 3,152 pieces and five mini-figures including Darth Vader, Admiral Piett, Dengar, Bossk and IG-88. You’ll spend most of your time building the interior structure of this ship (which in the end you don’t even see), but the results are an extraordinary detailed rendition of the massive ship from the Star Wars saga that measures almost 50-inches and weighs almost 8 pounds. The Super Star Destroyer sells for $399 US.
A T-junction is a very small piece that allows three pieces of tubing to connect into one junction, essentially splitting (or joining) airflow from two hoses into one. These only allow 1:2 branching, but by combining T-junctions, any number of branches can be achieved (i.e.: one tube can branch into three by using two T-junctions).

It’d be hard to argue against Lego’s Star Wars Collector’s Millennium Falcon as being one of the most challenging and largest Lego sets (it also probably ranks as our #1 LEGOs for adults). The $499 Millennium Falcon is suggested for ages 16-years and older but younger kids can probably get through it with some supervision. The highly detailed scale model is made up of a whopping 5,195 pieces but only 5 mini-figures including Luke, Princess Leia, Han, Chewbacca, and a stormtrooper. Why the set doesn’t include C-3PO and R2-D2 mini-figures is sort of a mystery (weren’t they on the Falcon during the mission to rescue Leia?), but nevertheless the ship itself is more than enough to focus on. The Collector’s Millennium Falcon was released in 2007 and retired in 2010, but remains the most-expensive mass-produced Lego set to date.
Thanks to its 3,104 pieces, most of which are the exact same shade of grey, the Ultimate Collector’s Series version of the Imperial Star Destroyer is pure evil as a piece of design. The Emperor would be proud. It comes with a 16+ age tag, and isn’t for the feint of heart. And since it’s been discontinued for quite a while, it’s also impossibly expensive. This is one for the only the most die hard Star Wars fans.
LEGO released the first European gears in 1970.[2] At the same time, cross axles and bushes were introduced, which are still used in TECHNIC sets today. The first universal joint also appeared around this time.

In 2006, a poll was taken, aimed at the AFOL community. Adult fans were asked to share their ideas and opinions of what concept they would like to see for a future model from The LEGO Group. Some of the ideas submitted were: more town and everyday buildings, structures with more architectural detail, realistic buildings, minifigure scale buildings, solid and enclosed buildings, and more. These ideas were taken into consideration and a year later the first set in the Modular Buildings series, Café Corner, was released. A LEGO fan was invited to provide feedback and suggestions during the design of that set.[2]
I was perusing Amazon when I just happened to stumble across this set. I haven’t purchased anything LEGO since I was a kid, a decade and a half ago. However, as an outdoors enthusiast who loves to camp (and would love a camper in real life), I just couldn’t resist the set. And, let me tell you, it blew me away.
-the box was a little bit dented, but for an item that’s out of production that can happen. I don’t keep my boxes, anyway, so I didn’t feel the need to ding the rating, but for those who do, just know that damage to the box is a very real possibility.
The market for old toys on eBay is much bigger than just Lego. If you’ve got some old childhood clutter just gathering dust, here are 8 ways to tell if your old toys could be worth more then just memories while our guide to getting the most cash when selling old toys on eBay can be found here .

The plot thickens when we examine the landmarks sets in the Creator Expert lineup. There are currently two available sets in this sub-theme, the five year old 10214 Tower Bridge, and the much younger, two year old 10234 Sydney Opera House.
NOTE: This set is retired and is no longer sold by LEGO. That means you’ll only be able to find this set available via the secondary market with secondary sellers. To keep things in perspective, the original retail price for this set was $79.99.
While most people think of Lego as being a toy for kids, the Lego modular series is more an adult line due to its size and complexity. Since the inception of the modular series, AFOL’s (adult fan of Lego) from around the world have been busy building their own variations on the modular theme.
The minifigures are worth the price of this set alone. The Penguin is of course cool, and he comes with an umbrella and a little detonator for the dynamite, but I think the unique scuba Batman is the best part of the set. He comes in a navy blue batsuit with a harpoon gun and a scuba tank. His face is also two-sided; one side has his normal Batman face while the other shows him with a diving mask and respirator, and it looks really neat under the cowl.
Wow you guys put out some really good arguments. At first I was getting a lot of talk about skipping it, but I think as this topic took off a little more the fans for the sets started being heard. I’m definitely leaning towards getting them now, but it’s still not set in stone yet. I would really like to get the Grand Emporium, it just seems like so much more fun, but I understand the Fire Brigade will probably be the first to go, so that’s the one I need to buy ASAP.
My grandkids and I assembled a great sturdy play mat by gluing lego plates and a road kit I found to a large piece of particleboard. We used a blue baseplate as a lake and the kids love “driving” the truck to the lake to put the boat in. It was easy for my seven-year-old to assemble and all the kids love playing with it. It was a great addition to the Legos I keep in their playroom at my house. Legos are the best toy out there, even though they are expensive but well-worth the cost!! One caution: there are a lot of tiny pieces so make sure it is assembled with adult supervision.
Axles – Axles, sometimes known as cross axles, are cross-shaped rods. They are most often used in rotating parts. When inserted into beam holes, they can turn freely. Like beams, axles are measured in stud lengths; axles with even lengths are colored black, and axles with odd lengths are colored grey. There are some specialty axles that are colored differently.
This Lego set is not only one of the top runners as far as expense is concerned, but it is also one of the best and well-sought Lego sets because it’s so symbolic of what everyone wants – freedom. Adult Lego collectors want the freedom to relish in their love of crafting, and building things, they believe, represents their values – the adult-level appreciation of things such as freedom, as well as the childhood wonderment of creating something from nothing that’s so spectacular and momentous.
You may have to make some substitutes to the parts because some of the listed parts are very specific to the set. Using this method I was able to build the Green Grocer for ~$400 and Market Street for ~$200.
