TECHNIC Figures are figures that appeared in TECHNIC sets, especially from the CyberSlam/Competition line. They were first introduced in 1986 in the Arctic Action line, and were produced until 2001. They are much larger and have several more joints than the standard minifigure, including bendable elbow and knee-joints. Each figure comes already assembled and is not meant to come apart, but parts can be popped off by pulling too hard. They can connect to both standard LEGO System bricks and on TECHNIC parts, and TECHNIC pegs can fit in their hands. 27 different kinds of Technic figures were created,[6] some sets included the same figures but with different accessories and stickers.

My son has spatial dyslexia and enjoys building with legos. He really likes to get the sets, but I find that I do most of the building and he does most of the fretting because he can’t see what he needs to do.
This kind of project is definitely take a lot of resources, both on time and money, but isn’t that what hobbies are for? I already started ordering a couple hundred euros on the first pieces, and I’ll keep on this until I completed it. I’ll keep you posted.
The twelfth set of the modular buildings is a particularly large one — 10255 Assembly Square includes 4002 pieces and a three-building plaza containing a bakery, florist, cafe, music store, photography studio, dance studio, dental office and an apartment.
@mrpole: you definitely have to do your research for each particular set. For example, Market Street is going for $500 on Bricklink the last time I saw. You would think that since the set includes about 1000 pieces, you could get the set for $150 if you can get pieces at an average of $.15. Unfortunately there are several rare elements to this set that drive up the cost. For example the set requires 5 dark blue arches ($10/ea), 79 dark blue 1×4 bricks ($1/ea), 4 white hoses ($5/ea)…. so if you add just those together you’re paying $149 for 88 of the 1000+ pieces. That’s not including shipping. I’m not discouraging you doing it, but make sure it’s feasible before you start…. get the rare elements first, otherwise you’ll be left with a big hole in your project. Another thing to consider is to wait and hope that some of these rare parts are included in future sets for possible cannibalization.

The Arkham Asylum Breakout set features so much detailed content, with a total of 1,619 pieces. It comes with a total of 8 minifigures: Batman, Robin, The Joker, The Penguin, Poison Ivy, Dr. Harleen Quinzel, Scarecrow and a guard, all with their own weapons, to play around in a creatively realized version of Arkham. It has the front of the Asylum itself, featuring some gothic-style decor, moss, vines, and ice elements for added effect, and a separate security gate.
We work out the trending price by crunching the data on the product’s sale price over the last 90 days. New refers to a brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item, while Used refers to an item that has been used previously.
Beams – Beams are long blocks with rows of round holes. All beams are one stud wide, but they can have varying lengths. They constitute the basic structure of the TECHNIC system. Before 2000, the TECHNIC system used TECHNIC bricks, essentially standard bricks with holes along the sides. Beams are part of “studless construction”, which allows TECHNIC models to be more compact. They have rounded edges and no studs.
LSP borrows and adapts concepts of constructivism, and may have an important role to play in supporting multi-sensory approaches to reflecting on learning, either along with, or instead of, basic writing. The structure of Lego Serious Play allows participants the freedom of exploring and expanding on new ideas without the fear of being wrong or looking stupid. After all, they are simply playing with Legos.

Now back to Lego. Technic is mostly bought by or for boys. Boys are interested in technical things, but when you think about something technical like a car, that usually doesn’t involve a human being. A Technic figure is, in it’s essence, a doll. It doesn’t have a real role – Technic figure is no police officer or fire-fighter that a boy would really want to identify with. At best (but he’s lacking the uniform), Technic figure could be imagined to be a crane operator, but this sort of role is harder to imagine because of the lack of a uniform.
Early TECHNIC motors used the standard 4.5V system, interchangeable with the Trains theme and consisted of a large brick with a small protruding axle. When the motor is activated, the axle rotates. From 1990 onward, this was changed to the 9V system in line with other LEGO themes. The output rotation has a high RPM, but low torque, so it cannot be used to turn heavy objects without additional gears. Later motors contained a hole into which an axle of any length can be inserted.
I would not have called that. They have some really good designers and I would have thought they would have found a way around that, if it’s worth it. Just scale the Technic figures as well (I could think of a way to do that, just make them more modular, or simply make large/medium/small versions.), or only include them in larger models and make the larger models roughly to one scale.
Lego sets also offer a way for adults to learn through experience. Studies have shown, using Lego sets as an example, that the faculties of the mind learn better through example. As such, having someone showing you how to create an object using Legos can stimulate the creativity in your own brain.
What would be of a LEGO Technic blog without a top ten list? I have built a list with the Technic sets I have been more impressed. I have a few of them and I will try for sure to get the rest. So here is the list
I think that the Mini Cooper 10242 maybey also not a redesigned box is. This is a box from 2014, but not the end of 2015 redisigned box. They has aslo no last updated box. Is this means, that possibly the Camper Van has still time to go, with a new redisigned box, and the Mini Cooper 10242 next year will be sold out first? Like first the 10234 Sydney Opera House going first quickly sold out and not the 10214 Tower Bridge. And the new 10253 Big Ben Creator Expert for 2016, confirm that one of the 10214 or 10234 is sold out soon, whit the 10234 first, because they has no new redisigned box.
The Parisian Restaurant (set # 10243) is absolutely fabulous. It contains three levels that are each distinct and include a lot of fun and creative details. The kitchen, for instance, includes everything a world-class chef might want and the art studio is perfect for a budding Picasso complete with easel, paints and several finished canvases – your Lego town may just need to open a gallery to showcase the work! The architecture on the exterior is top notch as well. I especially like the stone in the chimney and all of the flowers and greenery are an added touch. It truly makes me want to visit this restaurant for an afternoon snack or elegant outside evening dining. Personally, I found this one the most fun to build!
If you’re a collector looking to grab as many of the architecture sets as you can, you’ll be pleased to know the scale of the Capitol building matches the scale used for other Washington D.C. sets created within the Architecture sub-series, including specifically the Lincoln Memorial, making it a great choice for fans of politics or United States history specifically. The set weighs a little under four pounds in total, and the sheer number of pieces—basically makes it a poor fit for children looking to build the set on their own. However, we think this set is great for puzzle collectors and history fans alike, and would make a great bonding experience with your kids, so long as they’re willing to play with a building instead of a spaceship set. If you’re looking for a complex set that is a perfect match between “responsible adult” options and the fun of playing with Legos, you’ll have to check out the Capitol Building set from the Architecture line. It’s one of our favorites.
@slovakiasteph – if you’re not near a LEGO store with a winter toy shop, you could always try calling them and have them ship one to you. Most stores I’ve called are willing to do this. Or you can watch Amazon. It pops in stock every now and then. I’m a bit of a toy shop hoarder, so I check Amazon a lot for this one. Others do as well, and there is a thread on ToysNBricks (http://www.toysnbricks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=3235) for it. I can try and remember to update this thread as well.
When the first set in the series, Café Corner, was released, the designer indicated that more sets would follow in the series only if sales of the first set were successful.[1] In a later interview in 2008 covering the third set in the series, Green Grocer, the designer indicated that sales had been strong enough to support four sets in the series (referring to the planned 2009 release of Fire Brigade as the fourth set).[10]

Not having everything available any time for a reasonable price is what makes collecting fun. Whats a collection if not some of the pieces gain worth over time? Do you really want a world, where theres no way that any set in your collection will grow to a rare item?
The hellicarrier is being soon as well. I’d also expect the Silent Mary to have a limited run and be retired next year. The Batcace which did not do as well is on its way out. And good bye to Hoth which was not well received. Additionally, Lego sold 16,000 UCS milleniaks Falcons within hours of the VIP release yesterday.
