If they re-release sets that gained worth, that won’t do them a favor i think. Some sets i only bought because i hope they gain worth. If they start re-releasing everything good, i won’t do that anymore.
The tenth modular building emerged in January 2015 in the form of 10246 Detective’s Office. Comprised of a pool hall, detective’s office, and barber shop, this set features an entire backstory based around ‘cookie smuggling’.
You can also buy Lego Harry Potter mini-figures individually on eBay or BrickLink if those are what the kids are really in love with. While one Harry Potter figure might still set you back $15 plus shipping (at the cheap end), that’s a lot cheaper than buying a whole set. Again, figures tend to be more expensive on eBay due to the auction effect.
If you go to an item’s catalog page (for example, here’s the Fire Brigade’s Page), click “Part out” under On Wanted Lists:. Un-check notify by email and check “Set My Minimum Desired Qty for each Item to Qty of Items in Inventory”, add in a wanted list name, then Submit for Edit, Verify Items, and finally upload items. When you go to a store and search for items under this wanted list, Bricklink will display which items the store has and how many you need. After you check out, it will give you an option to remove the items you purchased from the store from your wish list.

I was in my Dark Ages when the Cafe Corner and Green Grocer were in production. I am bummed that I them, but unless I happen to win the lottery, I know that I’ll probably never get my hands on them. I did, however, get both the Fire Brigade and Grand Emporium, and just having the two still creates quite an amazing display. Building them both, though, I did notice a large amounts of improvement between the Fire Brigade and the Grand Emporium– it was obvious during building which one came first. From what I’ve heard of their predecessors, there isn’t much focus on the interior, which I find to be part of the charm of these pieces. It certainly is one of my favorite lines and based off of their popularity, I can only imagine that they won’t stop with the Pet Shop.
This set offers a ton of play — the boat floats, the raft floats, there’s a helicopter (with pontoons — DOES NOT FLOAT), there’s a submersible (DOES SINK, heh heh), a lighthouse, and sharks. Plus 6 minifigs! Pilot, captain, first mate, second mate, and a happy couple. Plus a dog. Plus a popsicle!
This  is an easy one to answer yourself if you know where to look… However, the answer will vary depending on when you do the research. The  price will increase as time goes by, they aren’t making any more Cafe  Corners, Green Grocers or Market Streets
For some reason, Lego decided to revive an obscure line from ’79 targeted at young girls. The one thing that kept the Scala doll line remotely attached to the Lego brand was the use of some bricks in the play sets, and from ’97-’98, the brick studs were in flower-shapes incompatible with other Lego sets.
Beams – Beams are long blocks with rows of round holes. All beams are one stud wide, but they can have varying lengths. They constitute the basic structure of the TECHNIC system. Before 2000, the TECHNIC system used TECHNIC bricks, essentially standard bricks with holes along the sides. Beams are part of “studless construction”, which allows TECHNIC models to be more compact. They have rounded edges and no studs.
Take on even the toughest terrain with this realistic 4×4 Crawler. Operate the 4-wheel steering and 4-wheel drive using the supplied LEGO Power Functions infrared remote control! Then ride the roughest rocks with the high-performance extreme suspension. This heavy-duty model also features opening doors and top section. Rebuild it into a tough 4×4 off-road truck!
TECHNIC Figures are figures that appeared in TECHNIC sets, especially from the CyberSlam/Competition line. They were first introduced in 1986 in the Arctic Action line, and were produced until 2001. They are much larger and have several more joints than the standard minifigure, including bendable elbow and knee-joints. Each figure comes already assembled and is not meant to come apart, but parts can be popped off by pulling too hard. They can connect to both standard LEGO System bricks and on TECHNIC parts, and TECHNIC pegs can fit in their hands. 27 different kinds of Technic figures were created,[6] some sets included the same figures but with different accessories and stickers.

A direct sequel to Lego Batman 2 called Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham was released in 2014. This third installment saw Batman travel outside of Gotham into space with the Justice League. With bonus DLC content featuring different generations of Batman in Lego form such as Batman 1966 and The Dark Knight Trilogy. Despite the title, Batman was not the main focus in this installment and it was more focused on the entire Justice League and other DC Superheroes.
Modular Revival is just getting started, so you can expect a few things to change over the coming months as we plan to roll out these exclusive sets and who knows, maybe you’ll see other themes be implemented into the Revival series.

The LEGO company at that stage had no idea how much it cost to manufacture the majority of their bricks, they had no idea how much certain sets made. The most shocking finding was about sets that included the LEGO micro-motor and fiber-optic kits — in both cases it cost LEGO more to source these parts then the whole set was being sold for — everyone of these sets was a massive loss leader and no one actually knew. This was combined with a decision to ‘retire’ a large number of the LEGO Designers who had created the sets from the late 70’s through the 80’s and into the 90’s and replace them with 30 ‘innovators’ who were the top graduates from the best design colleges around Europe. Unfortunately, though great designers they knew little specifically about toy design and less about LEGO building. The number of parts climbed rapidly from 6000 to over 12,000 causing a nightmare of logistics and storage and a huge amount of infrastructure expansion for no gain in sales. Products like Znap, Primo, Scala and worst; Galidor all came out of this period.
The good witch doctor prescribed the LEGO Ultimate Building Set – 405 Pieces. I didn’t know how it would solve anything but he said to just put it somewhere low to the ground and he promised I’d see results. So I did. Sure enough, within minutes my children found them. Ever since, walking barefoot around my house as alleviated my “painless foot” syndrome. The best part about this remedy is, unlike traditional methods, you never know exactly WHEN the covert pieces embedded just below the carpet fibers are going to relieve your painlessness. My favorite times to receive treatment are between 1 AM and 5 AM.
I have only bought new modulars for list price, so I can’t advise too much here. Which modulars will you be bricklinking? I imagine that CC, MS and GG will be incredibly expensive no matter how you get them since I have heard that some of the parts (I think the blues in CC and the sand green in GG) are quite expensive. I seem to remember people saying it is cheaper to bricklink though.

What may make more of a difference is what type of building you prefer. Ever since TH, I think that the line has drifted away from making massive buildings and focused more on details/interior. A lot of people like this, but I am not one of them. The three I own (FB, GE, PS) are my three favourite, while the most recent three (PC, PR and the Detective Office) are among my least favourite.

My youngest child recently became a Lego fanatic (as am I). She was already enthralled by the Harry Potter books and movies, so the discovery that two of her favorite things were now combined (and just before Christmas, too) gave birth to a new obsession. Unfortunately, Lego stopped making Harry Potter Lego sets last year.
The Palace Cinema (set # 10232) is a throwback to the Fire Brigade in that it also has only two levels. The first contains a concession area and lobby while the second floor contains the large screen with projector and theater style seating. Palace Cinema even comes with a limousine and spotlights for opening night. What movie are your Lego figures going to see next? What movie stars may they run into on opening night? A lot of fun Lego imagination available with this one!

If you need a little break from science fiction-based Star Wars sets you can jump into an architectural project building the Taj Mahal. The $299 set gives you more bang for your buck than the Collector’s Millennium Falcon, boxing a total of 5,922 pieces (about 700 more than the Falcon). What also makes this set a bit more of a challenge for builders is that all the pieces are all generally the same color. This makes it especially difficult for those who like to dump all their Lego pieces into a pile rather than build bag-by-bag. Puzzle builders will attest to the difficulty of puzzles that don’t vary too much in color or patterns. The Lego model of the famous Taj Mahal palace in India was released in 2008.
I had an entire evening and morning to myself and decided I would watch all three of the Nolan Batman movies while building this colossal set. I thought I’d maybe make it through the first one and get halfway through Dark Knight. I actually watched all 3 movies to completion and still needed a short TV show to finish it out. It’s easily an 8-10 hour build depending on your level of expertise and your current abilities in spotting tiny pieces.

Space (City) is the third attempt at depicting contemporary efforts in space. The theme was preceded by Shuttle Adventure, which was released in 2010 under the Lego Exclusives line to coincide with the retirement of the Space Shuttle. The set proved to be extremely popular among children and was re-released in 2011 as Shuttle Expedition with several re-designs to improve playability.
I bought this set to go along with Lego City Undercover on the Wii U, which is a must have game for anyone! If you buy this set with the Wii U game, you unlock the two vehicles in this set! Even at my older age, I absolutely loved building this set and using the code found on the police vehicles license plate in game to unlock the vehicles I just built. This was my first Lego set in probably 10 years and I’m absolutely in love with Legos again! It amazes me at how good Lego has gotten the sets and the details found on the cars etc. Buy this, and buy the Wii U and Lego City Undercover as well!
This is easily the most impressive Lego set I’ve ever built. The fact that it’s a functional, high-torque remote control crawler is amazing. Everything is built out of legos, save for a couple of electric engines and the remote. Everything else- transmission, suspension, etc, is built by the user. It has a fair bit of educational value, because you will put together the differential and just about everything else.

We’ve covered classic architecture builds, amazing sports car models, extravagant toy sets, and so much more throughout this list—but what if you’re looking for something a bit more simplistic feel to it, while still retaining a real world feel, the Lego Creator 10th Anniversary Assembly Square set is one of our absolute favorites, with a complicated build that involves over 4,000 pieces to complete a full city block, buzzing with as much life and excitement as you’d see anywhere else. The Assembly Square set might not be as realistic as the Capitol Building, but it is an expert build—filled with eight minifigures, glossy floor panels, and accessories you won’t see in any other set, including mini pretzels, telephones, a baby carriage, a small chihuahua, and beautiful storefront signs. When complete, the set is large enough to stand over a foot tall, a foot wide, and nearly 10″ in depth. It might not be as creative or interesting as something like Lego Batman’s Arkham Asylum set, but for the right builder, Assembly Square is an intense, expert-only design that will keep you busy building for months on end.
The creators of LSP believe that metaphors provide radically different ways of understanding things. Through metaphors, the personal feeling associated with the problem is removed, allowing all involved to see the bigger picture. By reaching solutions through their expanded metaphors, companies are able to overcome their own problems in an effective yet playful way; hence the name serious play.
