How many pieces are there? – Unless you have actually counted them, don’t give an estimate of how many pieces are in your lot. A better way to quantify your lot is by weight (not including the container or instruction books).
You can search online for replacement guides for the most expensive sets, and you’re always going to find great tips. For example, most of the internal parts of the Millennium Falcon were some technic yellow parts, that were also created for other much common sets at the time. But now, those sets are scarce, so those yellow pieces (that you’ll never see) are pricey as hell. You can replace them by the same piece, but in another color, and you’ll save literally 150 dollars, in only 16 pieces.
When I go to the US retiring page, all I get are bionicle sets and stuff, none of the items listed here. Then I click on the link in this article to the UK retiring page and these sets are listed there. What is going on? Is this why never learned the Town Hall was retiring a couple years ago?

Lego clearly wants to keep the history going as the Star Wars theme is consistently among the upper echelon of Lego themes in terms of the most sets coming out in a year. Part of this is due to the recent and planned theatrical releases of The Force Awakens, Rogue One, and The Last Jedi and, naturally, they still frequently draw from the first six movies in the franchise. Lego doesn’t stop there, however, as the animated shows Freemaker Adventures, Rebels, and Clone Wars all have sets that are not retired as of 2017. Eight movies and three television shows, that’s a lot of source material to choose from. What made it into our top ten list? Find out below.
While most of the LEGO Star Wars faithful has now fixed their gaze on the grandest reveal that LEGO has slated this Force Friday II, it seems that we can expect more LEGO Star Wars sets to be unveiled towards the end of the year and even until the first quarter of 2018. read more
I also keep an eye on elements listed as used. They often are the cheapest variety but they can also be the most discolored. One time I even received a piece with a sticker I needed to remove. Usually the pieces you don’t want used are ones that are entirely decorative like a printed element or window-glass. The problem with glass is not how clean it is but how well it fits in a frame. If the nubs are worn down too much they can easily fall out. As for discolorations, white is your biggest issue. It’s the one piece that is very noticeable when discolored. Keep this in mind if what you want is a pristine looking final model.
I haven’t tried it myself yet, since my daughter is a little young for Legos, but I’ve heard great things about Pley. It’s a monthly Lego and Duplo rental service, kind of like Netflix for Legos. It could be a great way to try some of the cool sets before you spend lots of money on them, since we all know that just because it’s expensive doesn’t mean it will hold your child’s interest. It could also cut down on clutter, since you get to use lots of new sets without having to store the old ones.

From her crown to her torch, The Statue of Liberty is an iconic monument and symbol of freedom from tyranny, financial hardship, and suffering for many immigrants since the late 1800’s. She was given to the United States by France on October 28, 1886 as a gift for the centennial of the American Declaration of Independence.
Sometimes small and simple can be good things.  This set is very basic, consisting of 282 pieces, many of which are minifigurines and Droids.  The set replicates the scene in Revenge of the Sith where Anakin is transformed into Vader.  The Emperor is included as a minifigurine along with Anakin, Vader, and two Droids.  This is a quick build, but the payoff is fantastic.  Getting to lower Anakin and flip the table over to reveal Vader is an incredibly simple, but fun moment to experience in the Lego world (manually adding his helmet in extreme slow motion is totally optional, but highly recommended).  What this set lacks in size and depth it more than makes up for in fun and cool accessories.
If find the challenges of putting together a set fun in itself. I’m currently putting together 10231 Space Shuttle Explorer, 10197 Fire Station, 8480 Technic Space Shuttle and 6395 Victory Raceway (which I desperately wanted, but never owned as a kid). I could easily buy them on eBay or elsewhere, but the challenge of this is far more interesting.
