Holding the record for the biggest LEGO Star Wars model ever made at 5,195 pieces, this space-style Lego set has earned its place in the hearts of all Star Wars and Lego fans around the world. Also included with this set are 5 iconic Star Wars Lego figurines: Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Surprising, almost two years since I originally write this post, Amazon.com still have sellers listing complete Harry Potter Lego sets. Some are still quite expensive, but others look more reasonable once you’ve done your research and seen the much more expensive and complicated options out there. There are little stocking stuffers like the bagged Harry Potter in the Lab figure that are reasonably affordable, and larger sets like some of the Hogwarts sets (beware, there are several that make up the complete castle) and others with many unique and iconic pieces (such as the Quidditch Match set) easily available.
“With the soar in popularity of Lego with both adults and children, the effect on the values of both rare, hard to find sets and new releases has been incredible,” said Bev Channell, event director for Lego event BRICK 2015, running at Birmingham’s NEC this week.

Interestingly the #10224 LEGO Creator Town Hall is also shown as sold out. I have bought this set a few days ago when it was shown as backordered, as well as the #10243 LEGO Creator Parisian Restaurant – there was a few days of delay, but I have received both sets with no problems. At the time I placed the order I was told that the #10224 LEGO Creator Town Hall will be back in stock on the 16th, so I’m curious why it’s showing as sold out right now. There has been rumors that this set will retire early, so this may in fact be the end. If you are interested in this set I would highly suggest that you call LEGO’s customer service right now before it is too late.
Yea I understand your point. I REALLY like the sets, and I agree with Martin that they are a must-have for AFOLs but I totally forgot there’s actually 3 sets that are out of production, making things a lot harder. Especially when I consider how long it will take me to save up to get those 3 sets, and by then who knows how much higher the prices will go…but then again…can I afford to wait? Will I eventually be sucked into buying just one then will need the rest? What if another set goes out of production leaving 4 second hand priced sets! Ah the dilemma!!
The Arkham Asylum Breakout set features so much detailed content, with a total of 1,619 pieces. It comes with a total of 8 minifigures: Batman, Robin, The Joker, The Penguin, Poison Ivy, Dr. Harleen Quinzel, Scarecrow and a guard, all with their own weapons, to play around in a creatively realized version of Arkham. It has the front of the Asylum itself, featuring some gothic-style decor, moss, vines, and ice elements for added effect, and a separate security gate.
Chain links were also introduced as an additional way of connecting gears. Tension (resulting from the correct number of chain-link parts used), along with the combination of gearwheel-sizes used, is critical to reliable operation. 8-tooth gears are not recommended for this purpose.
Build an authentic vintage fire station! Ding ding ding! There’s a fire in town! The fire brigade drives to the scene from this detailed and realistic 1930’s fire station. Designed to fit with other modular buildings like 10182 Café Corner and 10185 Green Grocer, the station features rare LEGO® pieces and innovative construction techniques. It includes a ‘30s-style fire truck, 4 minifigures, a fire-dog, an opening station garage door, and a removable building roof for interior access. It also includes 2 fully-furnished floors with fire-fighting tools, racks for the firemen’s helmets, fire-pole, ping-pong table, kitchen with fully-stocked fridge, couch, bookshelf and a roof with a water tower and bell. Measures 14″ (35 cm) high and 10″ (25 cm) wide.
This set is an overall great value from Lego. Also, it is one of only two corner buildings in the modular series so far, so if you want to make a square block, you’ll have to pick up a couple of these since the other corner unit (Cafe Corner) is no longer available unless you’re willing to spend $1,500+ on eBay.
Can be a seat, a bouncer, a walker and has an eating tray. Can change the seat/ walker height 3 levels to grow with your child, and set to “bounce”. All steering wheel buttons/lights/songs work as do the feet buttons and lights. The foot base also moves from front to back. It’s only ever been indoors, only taken outside for photos. Very good condition. They are $169 new
This is a BRAND NEW, HARD TO FIND AND DISCONTINUED set of LEGO TECHNIC 8215 Gyro Copter€Ÿš from 1997. This set is still factory sealed and the box is in good condition with some minor shelf wear, wrinkles and crease. 107 pieces, 0 minifigures_?
The Cafe Corner (set # 10182) has been retired for quite a while now, so sets are hard to come by and quite expensive, but still one of the best in the series. The Cafe Corner was the first released in the series and did not come furnished but it probably has the highest level of architectural detail of all of the modular buildings. With enough pieces, you can even duplicate the second floor to make the hotel as many stories high as you want! Of course, the fact that it is not furnished is really not a drawback either as you can always decorate the interior they way you want too!
Another easy way to reduce the price: Just order your pieces by Status, and scroll down until you find the pieces marked with a blueish cross. Those are the extra pieces that come in every set. Delete them immediately. In my case, those were US$ 20 less.
At 3,152 pieces, this Super Star Destroyer is an even larger undertaking than the Ultimate Star Destroyer we listed earlier. And given the thinner design of this one, you could argue that it’s even more difficult to build. Again, the limited color palette makes picking the right pieces difficult, and the stark Imperial design makes the job at hand even harder.

I remember buying a 386 Ambulance Helicopter set back in the 1970s… only because it had 2 45 degree white concave corner slopes. Then over 30 years later these same parts were reintroduced in the Shrieking Shack Harry Potter Set.
Probably the biggest and best kit you can get in the $50 dollar range (I vetted many options). Includes lots of interesting little specialty piece (ice saw, pic axe, etc). My 6 year old nephew would not stop until the entire kit was done. Entire assembly is probably 5 inches tall and 12 inches long or so.
Interior details include a bedroom and kitchen, tables and a sofa. Mix and match the buildable modules and easily swap the window, door and other modular sections to customize the house with the new-f…
They don’t always discontinue them– the best example I can think of is probably the Star Destroyer, which was around longer than LEGO initially expected, thanks to excellent sales. They offered it in catalogs from at least 2002 to 2007 (6 years). If they offered the UCS MF that long, it would be in catalogs until at least 2012!
What do you think? How do you like the LEGO Creator Palace Cinema? Do you have it already? Or are you planning to get it before it is retired and sold out? Which one your favorite LEGO Modular Building so far? Feel free to share your thoughts and own review in the comment section below! 😉
