“discontinued lego duplo -current lego star wars sets”

I put two Palace Cinemas on hold at my ‘local’ lego store. They still have alot left but i wanted two. One to build and another to keep for a couple years. I got to drive an hour and a half to my nearest store though.
Unfortunately I’ve never seen Legos sold (bricks or sets) at any garage sales or thrift stores around here or I would have snatched them up. My mother had saved my original set so we started with that. My daughter loves the little Lego Friends figurines. We’ve successfully bought a couple of times off eBay. I think only once was it missing one of the pieces (not evident unless you consulted the manual). Let friends know you’re interested in Legos – sometimes they’re downsizing and will hand them off for free or a great price. When you do have to buy new, watch for sales throughout the year; we snagged a larger Lego Friends set at Target way back in September. It was a one-day only 40% off special.
LEGO released their first entry into the Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series back in 2000 and found they had created a big hit with collectors and adult fans of LEGO. While those initial sets were not nearly as popular as the current UCS collection, it was enough to create a long running series of models with new releases every year. The popularity of the series has grown ever since and exploded in recent years. It has grown to the point that many Star Wars UCS sets represent the best LEGO investments, with even recent entries showing excellent growth after retirement.
Holding the record for the biggest LEGO Star Wars model ever made at 5,195 pieces, this space-style Lego set has earned its place in the hearts of all Star Wars and Lego fans around the world. Also included with this set are 5 iconic Star Wars Lego figurines: Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
“Retiring Soon” means nothing, some sets get the label and are sold out a week later, a set like Medieval Market gets the label and it was still available for like 6+ months. “Retired” is really the tag to look for but that doesnt show up until a set is almost completely sold everywhere so by time you see the label its worthless. Im sure LEGO does mess with buyers/investors to encourage them to buy a set they were on the fence about or were waiting for a sweet sale but instead rush out and buy it at full MSRP. Its all a big game with constantly changing rules, Investors either give up and get out, get burnt and loose money or you keep up with the changing market and actually make a profit.
Sort the incoming LEGO elements for the project in a way you like to build. Sure, you could just shove the pieces all in one big bag as they arrive from different sellers, however if you take the time to sort the elements in a way that you enjoy building, then when it comes time to put the set together, things are a lot easier. A couple of sorting methods are either by color or by piece category. I’ll often make broader categories like all blues or all bricks – whether they are modified or not. The added advantage of this method is that if you have to double check if you got a part already it is easier to find the answer. For large projects with thousands of pieces this can be very helpful.
My solution to ensure some creative Harry Potter-themed Lego fun without breaking the bank has used all of the above sources. First, I showed my daughter the downloadable plans for all the Harry Potter Lego sets which gives her great ideas, and helps her build approximations of them with our old Legos (we have tons, including a lot from my own childhood — one of Lego’s many virtues is that it’s practically indestructible!). Then, I ordered some special parts and figures from Bricklink (spiral staircases, Gryffindor banners, the Fat-Lady’s portrait hole, chocolate frogs, etc.), scored one small lot of mixed Harry Potter Lego pieces at a reasonable price on eBay, and found the rest of the pieces we needed on the lego.com site (where we got a free gift). I then left it up to my kids’ imaginations to build their own Hogwarts. The colors might be a mixed bag, but all their friends ooh and aah when they come over, and I haven’t heard one word of complaint.
My son lpved Legos and also Bionicles. We lived overseas and when he returned to the US he left all of it with us. I ended up giving away the Lehos, but the Bionicles I brought back for him. Amazingly, he now works for Legoland Florida!

As a Lego seller, or someone who wishes to begin selling Legos, you must be careful when making your purchase.  After I purchased my first lot, I was astonished to find my precious Legos intermingled with junk.  I’m talking about leaking batteries, fingernails (I am NOT kidding!), trash, coins, rocks, used popsicle sticks, nails, toy cars…are you getting the picture?  Worst of all, my supposed “Lego” lot was about 50% imitation bricks, parts, and pieces.  My seller did not make amends and I was out a lot of money.  I did learn a valuable lesson, though.
Hey, I had the same thought as you. The set it way too expensive to buy and I want to actually have it assembled, not for collecting. Would you be able to share with me how you were able to get all the pieces and obtain the instructions?
Mark had reluctantly agreed to go to the flea market with his wife, as he hated the miles of walking and browsing through junk that he did not want did not thrill him. As they strolled along, a box sat in the corner caught Mark’s eye, and then he saw a rare Lego Mr. Gold figure. Quickly hustling into the stall, he grasped the figure in his hands and offered the vendor 50 cents for it. The vendor agreed and sold the rare Lego minifigure to Mark. Returning home, Mark was fascinated with his find, but still not thrilled with the miles of walking. Then, he had an idea. Instead of going to flea markets in hopes of finding Legos to add to his collection, he could search on eBay. When he did, he found many reliable sellers offering rare Lego minifigures, pieces, and bricks with convenient shipping options. The best news was that he did not have to walk miles to find rare Lego sets and figures.
As much I’d like those three there are several other Direct To Consumer (D2C) sets that are higher on my list, therefore all three of them are a pass. If I was to chose one it would be 75059 – Sandcrawler.
How odd about the opera house. The bridge has been out forever and is still being made. The opera house is much younger. I wanted to buy it but I don’t think I’ll be able to if it retires so soon. Boo.
Sorry, you’re gonna have to shell out more cash to really make the most of your model. Get these: 4-6 more Stormtroopers, more imperial officers, an extra Luke and Han in ST disguise, an extra Leia and Darth Vader, and a few others that you like. I added about a dozen more. Be careful that you get minis that match the style of 10188.
Includes 6 new and exclusive minifigures and droids only found in this set: Luke Skywalker (Stormtrooper outfit), Han Solo (Stormtrooper outfit), Assassin Droid, Interrogation Droid, Death Star Droid and 2 Death Star Troopers!

These modular sets also have eye appeal, which helps in their increasing value… but I’m always careful of new items as investments…. one has only to look at the very collectible Princess Diana Beanie Babies…. and their once high demand.
In October 2015, four new sets were released for Toys “R” Us Bricktober. They are 40141 – Bricktober Hotel (204 pcs), 40142 – Bricktober Train Station (180 pcs), 40143 -Bricktober Bakery (234 pcs), 40144 – Bricktober Toys “R” Us store (165 pcs). This time the base is 8×8 and 8×10 (and the boxes are thicker, but otherwise same size). As last time they each includes two vehicles.

The new Lego Brick Bank (set # 10251), which just debuted in January of 2016, is a great new addition to the Lego modular city. The bank itself has your standard bank iconography with ornate architecture, a large atrium, a transaction counter with security glass and, of course, a vault with safe deposit boxes. Upstairs is a secretary’s office complete with a typewriter and espresso machine and the bank manager’s office finely decorated. However, this modular is not just a bank but also includes a laundromat around the corner on the ground floor with 4 machines. Altogether, this makes for a practical and fun addition whether that means your townspeople will actually use the facilities as intended or hold them up at gunpoint so the police have to be called in. Oh, wait, there isn’t a modular police station yet… yep, that does pose a few difficulties!
It is no secret that other LEGO orientated fan websites comment on PC set in the similar fashion: as for the investment portfolio one has to take into account: a) its been on the market for such a looooooooong time.. b) RRP purchase price is quite low given the number of the bricks in the set.. c) it just “went off” (released) at the time when Town Hall retired and suddenly everybody realised the potential of modulars.. so sure.. buy it at all costs and hope that in 5-years future you would be still able to sell it at least at the purchase costs.. .. you cant be so naive as to think that this “piece of article” is some sensational investment tip, are you?? 😀
Mindstorms, a Lego line of robotic products, also uses a large number of Technic pieces, although it is sold as a separate line of products. The latest generation of the Mindstorms range, the Mindstorms EV3 range (released September 2013), as well as the Mindstorms NXT sets (released August 2006), are based on the studless construction method.
LEGO 10224 Town Hall is the largest modular building, with a whopping 2766 pieces. It had an unusually short lifespan for a modular, as it was released in March 2012 and became unavailable in late 2014, and was officially labelled as a Retired Product by LEGO in early 2015. The size of this unique set and its short life caused its post-retirement value to skyrocket very quickly.
For all the pluses, however, there are a few negatives. The back is very plain, for example, and would have benefited greatly from a ladder or bicycle rack, like sets #7639 and #4435. I would have loved to see the top swing open as well, instead of clicking on. Also, even with the top removed and the side swung open, maneuvering minifigs around the vehicle can be challenging, especially in the front. To get a minifig in the driver’s seat, I not only had to pop off the top of the camper but also remove the windshield. (But then, again, I have adult-sized hands instead of the child-sized ones this set was designed for.) I also would have liked to have seen two seats up front, so that both minifigs could sit in the cab, like in a real RV. Also, it’s a bit of a nit-pick, but the front wheel wells are a third-tile higher than the back wheel wells. It might seem minor, but it’s one of those things that you can’t unsee once you realize it (which you do pretty quickly as you’re putting the thing together yourself), and just breaks up a little that beautiful green line running down the side.
There are three versions of the pump. The old Generation one pump, the new Generation two pump (both of these are spring-loaded) and the small pump without a spring (designed for use with motors). The Generation one pump is red, while the Generation two pump is yellow and has a larger contact pad at the top of the pump. Generation three pumps are now available in translucent blue.
Downtown Diner (set number: 10260) is the thirteenth set in the Modular Building line. It was released on 1 January, 2018 and contain 2,480 pieces with a MSRP of US$169/149€. This building reintroduces the teal color (what LEGO calls Bright Blueish Green) that hadn’t been in production since 2008. The first level of this building is a 1950s-style diner. It has a curved front window, red bar stools, a classic bubbler-style jukebox, soda fountain-equipped counter, and an open-plan kitchen.

I would also like to add to this that the Modulars are actually really cheap compared to other LEGO sets. The price per piece ratio is much smaller, and also it is amazing how large, detailed and substantial the buildings are! After I put together mine I was thinking that there is no way I could build a MOC of comparable size for the same price by BrickLink-ing the parts.
A very small subtheme of Town, Houses incorporated older sets of houses and buildings, like 6592 Vacation Hideaway into a new subtheme. However, the theme was the only 1991 subtheme not to continue another year.

I was in my Dark Ages when the Cafe Corner and Green Grocer were in production. I am bummed that I missed them, but unless I happen to win the lottery, I know that I’ll probably never get my hands on them. I did, however, get both the Fire Brigade and Grand Emporium, and just having the two still creates quite an amazing display. Building them both, though, I did notice a large amounts of improvement between the Fire Brigade and the Grand Emporium– it was obvious during building which one came first. From what I’ve heard of their predecessors, there isn’t much focus on the interior, which I find to be part of the charm of these pieces. It certainly is one of my favorite lines and based off of their popularity, I can only imagine that they won’t stop with the Pet Shop.
Lego did not become the largest toy manufacturer in the world by chance. They create what are quite possibly the most universal toys on the market. Most people out of infancy have the ability to stack two Lego bricks together, and the result is usually a creative impulse that can, conveniently enough, only be solved through acquiring more Legos.
Why? Although it won’t take off the ground it is a really cool looking helicopter and you can add Power Functions so the rotor spins like a real helicopter. This is one of the next model I will buy. Here is my review. I really enjoyed this set.
Whether you have a child or are an adult enthusiast and collector, LEGO makes many sets and toys for all levels of builders. LEGO sets range in size from a handful of pieces to kits numbering in the thousands of blocks. LEGO toys cover a range of types, from buildings to ships to vehicles.
This is the original Batcave from 2006 and it’s still a fan favorite, for good reason. It has a total of 1,075 pieces put together to create Batman’s famous headquarters, including Batman’s costume transformation chamber, a fire-able Bat-Signal cannon, Robin’s jetski, the Batblade ice sledge, and The Penguin’s submarine. It also has a whopping 10 minifigures: Batman, Robin, The Penguin, 3x Penguin minions (which are literal penguins), Mr Freeze, Mr Freeze’s Henchman, Bruce Wayne, and Alfred.
Nice, a crawlspace for those of you making your “John Wayne Gacy setup”. Ok, a bit tasteless, I know. But seriously I love these buildings! I collect sets that will display well as I do not interact with them other than to admire details. I just finished the fire brigade and soon will be starting my grand emporium thats sitting in my closet. I missed the first three but I think I will definitely go after the green grocer for sure. I really wish I would have come out of my dark ages maybe a year or two earlier as I missed alot of the Star wars ucs sets, the first of these and the taj majal and carousel. Oh well, heres to the future sets that I will not miss again.
This is more of a surprise, as we see the Tower Bridge has received a box redesign after five years of availability, and the comparatively much younger Sydney Opera House has not received the updated Creator Expert logo. This indicates two potentially big surprises: The Tower Bridge may have some life left, and the Sydney Opera House could possibly be up for retirement in the near future.
Here is a great Lego instruction manual set.  I bought the set #7783 at a rummage sale, but it was missing some pieces, so I am selling the manuals # 1 and 2 by themselves.  Come s as shown, GREAT CONDITION.  I ship world wide.  I accept paypal email with any questions I combine shipping on all orders!!
I’ve resisted the modulars, until a week ago when I caved in and ordered the Fire Brigade. I’ve no doubt that I’ll also buy the Emporium and the Pet Shop now too. As for whether I go back and collect the rest, I’m not sure yet, I think I’ll just keep an eye out and if a bargain comes up I’ll probably get it.

I have all 5 sets in my collection. I passed on the Market Street originally because I didn’t think that it belonged with the other 2 building…. I was wrong. So instead, I like so many others went back and purchased the set… piece by piece on Bricklink. Unfortunately you can’t do that now since certain rare pieces are going for $10/brick.

It may seem bad now that 6/9 modulars are gone, but if you can get one of the retired ones (some stores may have some on hand), you could potentially have half of all the modulars since the Detective’s Office will make it an even 10. If you’re not irritated about missing the first few, I wouldn’t worry about missing a good chunk of them. Personally, I have nothing before FB and I would only pay original list price for any of the ones before it.
I built Market Street via Bricklink so I’m well aware of the difficulties. On a positive note, having completed that project has given me an appreciation for those people who create their own creations from bricks sourced through Bricklink or Pick a Brick.
When the first set in the series, Café Corner, was released, the designer indicated that more sets would follow in the series only if sales of the first set were successful.[1] In a later interview in 2008 covering the third set in the series, Green Grocer, the designer indicated that sales had been strong enough to support four sets in the series (referring to the planned 2009 release of Fire Brigade as the fourth set).[10]
LEGO’s 71016 The Kwik-E-Mart has been marked as Retiring Soon by LEGO Shop at Home Europe. This is a good indicator that LEGO will be retiring this set worldwide soon. This shouldn’t be a big surprise, as The Kwik-E-Mart has released… Continue Reading →
“Holy Lego set, Batman!” as Robin would probably say following the purchase of this awe-inspiring Lego set. This Lego set is one of the best around, with an array of detailed pieces and intricate designs. Some of the pieces included in the set are Alfred the Butler, Batman (black suit), Bruce Wayne, Robin, Mr. Freeze (with complete weapon assembly), Mr. Freeze’s Henchman, The Penguin, Robin’s jet-ski, the Batblade ice sledge, and the Penguin’s submarine.
The hellicarrier is being retired soon as well. I’d also expect the Silent Mary to have a limited run and be retired next year. The Batcace which did not do as well is on its way out. And good bye to Hoth which was not well received. Additionally, Lego sold 16,000 UCS milleniaks Falcons within hours of the VIP release yesterday.

Debuting in 2007, the Lego Modular Series is one of the most popular Lego series ever. The buildings are called “modulars” because the floors lift off to reveal decorated interiors and the buildings themselves can be locked together to create streets and entire cities.

Outside the realm of creative play, Legos offer adults a more practical benefit through a concept known as Lego Serious Play. LSP was developed in part by Kjeld Kirk Kristiensen, the owner of Lego. It involves a set of activities combining metaphorical modeling, with Lego, and peer group discussions to explore complex issues. It is designed as an innovative process to enhance ingenuity and business performance on the whole. Research shows that this specific form of hands-on, fully engaged learning produces deeper, more meaningful understanding of the world at large, as well as possible solutions to business problems. The results seem to play into the power of the metaphor.
Thanks Seamus for the reminder – I added information on the newly announced Assembly Square set today! I also appreciated your comments earlier this year regarding ideas for new modular designs. Looks like Lego took you advice with the dentist office 🙂 Although I also agree with you that a police station and post office (as well as a hospital) are still sorely needed and would be a great “connection” with other sets. Hopefully next year…!

We all know one proven way to invest in LEGO bricks is to look for big sales and great deals on LEGO sets that are still currently available at retail, then flip them several year later for a profit. Another great way to invest in LEGO bricks is to scour eBay and look for older and retired sets that are still having positive gains month after month and do the same thing. The trick is finding those older and retired sets without too much trouble. Here is our solution. Below is a list of the Top Performing “Old and Retired” LEGO sets over the past six months. All 50 LEGO sets on the list have been produced in 2008 or earlier. When displaying the sets from the USA eBay listings, there is a 20% range added to the current market value. For all other country feeds, the high price range is twice the current value and the low price range is half of the current value. When testing, this was returning some decent results. Our goal here is to help find these top performing sets that are still consistently increasing in value and showing you current eBay listings within a close price range of it’s current market value. It is our wish that you utilize this data to diversify your Brickfoilio and to help you find some hidden gems that will make you some money in the secondary LEGO market.
My 6YO loves Lego. We were buying small sets, but my husband found that he could buy a box of random parts on Ebay for much cheaper. He bought a set that had…I forget, but I think 1000 pieces, for $50 this fall. I’ll check with him, but I think it was that, or maybe 500 pieces. It seemed like a good deal. It’s very random, but my son loved it. That’s my only tip so far. I’ve looked on Craigslist, but with no luck. I’ve never seen them at thrift stores, but I’ll keep my eyes open for them. Thanks.

Lego clearly wants to keep the history going as the Star Wars theme is consistently among the upper echelon of Lego themes in terms of the most sets coming out in a year. Part of this is due to the recent and planned theatrical releases of The Force Awakens, Rogue One, and The Last Jedi and, naturally, they still frequently draw from the first six movies in the franchise. Lego doesn’t stop there, however, as the animated shows Freemaker Adventures, Rebels, and Clone Wars all have sets that are not retired as of 2017. Eight movies and three television shows, that’s a lot of source material to choose from. What made it into our top ten list? Find out below.
My daughter is young, but already computer literate enough to search eBay for Harry Potter Lego Sets.  The prices for complete Harry Potter sets tends to be sky high (eBay prices are second only to the after-market prices on Amazon) — although you can find bargains if you pay attention. You might find a loose set (no box, most of the pieces) for 1/2 to 3/4 of the (after-market) price of the unopened box, but that’s still expensive (as they’re going for three times the retail price when in-stores) and slightly dodgy, as you don’t know for sure that all the pieces are there until you build the set.

With such an iconic and ubiquitous series like Star Wars, there are going to be some entities which are almost too obvious as candidates for great Lego sets.  The TIE Fighter ranks up there among the most iconic ships in the Star Wars universe and it is great to see Lego produce a high quality kit from the source material.  The TIE Fighter is a large build at 1685 pieces, the final result has a huge presence due mainly to the massive wings on the ship.  It is quite cool to see Lego give the TIE a large scale build like this, it is a part of their Ultimate Collector Series.  The minor complaint here is that it only comes with one minifigurine, which makes sense given the context, but we still enjoy getting a few with our bigger set purchases.  The build will take a few hours, there is some redundancy with how massive the wings are, but the end result is fantastic so the build is ultimately incredibly rewarding.
LEGO Star Wars celebrates its 15th anniversary this year, and some of my next few Collecting the Galaxy blog posts will be devoted to looking back at the history of the mashup franchise. In the first of these LEGO Star Wars-inspired blogs we look at the period between 1999 and 2005, which takes in the releases of the prequels and the first original trilogy sets, too.
These two websites are going to make your life a lot easier while buying pieces, just matching the stores that sell the pieces you still need, and will automatically remove them from your wishlist as you buy them.
For the Lego collectors who love Batman, this set is to die for because it includes more than figurines and vehicles. This set also comes with Batman’s high-tech Bat Cave features control center, prison cell, and rocket and net launcher as well as other working gadgets like the costume transformation chamber.
3) Avoid generic kids’ stuff. Fire stations and stations go on sale regularly, but Maciorowski warns they’re not typically investment winners. Steer clear of the Lego City sets, which are lemons. (Unless you’re five years old. Then they’re awesome.)
Although this set is relatively expensive for the number of pieces contained within (compared to the Lego average), the pieces tend to be larger ones, and the unique figures certainly justify the additional cost. This is a fantastic set for kids who want to re-enact the movie scene or are otherwise looking for a play-heavy set (the construction is durable and will hold up to enthusiastic play), or for Star Wars fans who want to build this set for display. If you’re going to get one current non-ship Star Wars set, this should be it. Recommended for everyone who loves Star Wars and Lego, especially if you can get this set at a discount.
No, this is not a cop-out, especially when your Lego lover wants a $350 Ghostbuster set. Just saying! Instead make a contribution toward that maniac’s saving fund. You can gift it in a cute Lego money holder to keep with the theme.
Your child will have a renewed interest in the things he already owns and you won’t be adding more stuff to your household. Well, besides the book. But, they are available on Kindle, so you can save space that way, too.
As someone who’s just starting to get back into LEGO, this set hits all the right notes for me. Appeal to an awesome game, check. Lots of pieces not normally included in other sets, check. Modular and easy to display on my desk, check.
If you do not have these sets yet, here’s your final chance to get them at their usual retail price. Add them to your collection ASAP (if you do not have them yet) before the prices start to inflate (and you may have to pay unreasonable prices to get them from the secondary market in the future…)

It was well worth the price, not only to see a happy and grateful child, but because this Lego set has taken more than a couple of days to build. On top of that, it’s only gone up in price over the years, so one could consider it an investment. The best part of it all, this set builds so much more than an Impressive Lego Set. It also builds patience, care and problem solving. Now that’s a priceless gift!

I haven’t ruined my feet too badly in this Lego adventure, but you can bet your bottom dollar that I’m not going to go broke indulging in it. I’m stunned at the high prices they are charging these days. Just Wow.
Making the list as one of the 7 most expensive Lego sets, this stunning model of the Eiffel Town was released in 2007 and is built to 1:100 scale from the original blueprints. This set includes realistic and enchanting features and details such as a flag at the top of the elevators, four lifts toward the bottom of the tower that transport figurines from the base to the center section, and a small, brick-built French flag. It holds the record for the tallest Lego structure produced into a set and contains over three-thousand pieces!

This is newer set of previously released Lego Jaba’s Palace set. My son like this one much more then old one and have a lot of fun to play with. All essential figures are included (some of them are very difficult to find as for example Han Solo in carbonite)and what is most important, this set price is amazing – 112,00 USD when in Europe you will have to pay around 200,00 USD. Even in Lego online shop in USA you have to spend 119,00 USD plus costs of delivery.
➡ LEGO DC SUPER HERO GIRLS SETS ON SALE: Four of the LEGO Super Hero Girls sets are retiring soon and are on sale; the #41232 LEGO Super Hero Girls Super Hero High School, the #41231 LEGO Super Hero Girls Harley Quinn to the Rescue, the #41230 LEGO Super Hero Girls Batgirl Batjet Chase, and the #41233 LEGO Super Hero Girls Lashina Tank. You can find them under the LEGO DC Super Hero Girls section or under Sales and Deals at the Online LEGO Shop.
2) Make those sets big, and hopefully limited editions. Limited-edition and seasonal sets typically appreciate well—as you likely know, the combination of rarity and desirability is the magic formula for appreciation. So do big ones (think: thousands of pieces) with intricate details. And anything related to movies or franchises (Star Wars, Disney, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, et al.) tend to garner strong returns.

They just don’t know where to look, you’ll be able to get a Slave I at least until the end of 2016. The only big ones that retired at the end of last year were 76023 The Tumbler, 10240 Red Five X-Wing, and 10188 Death Star.
Also known as Dark Shark II or Black Skull, this Lego set is pretty detailed as the aftcastle can be accessed by opening its sidewalls as well as detaching a piece of the poop deck. You can also move the rudder by turning the steering wheel! One customer wrote, “…there is no set that can beat the Skull’s Eye Schooner.” This set is definitely in the running to be one of the best Lego sets because it has a plethora of cool features such as a compass next to the steering wheel and an odd postbox where you can find a glass and a gun.
If you’ve a pocket full of change, you might want to empty it out, as you could be in for some very good news. That’s according to the money experts at ChangeChecker, who have revealed a fascinating Scarcity Index, detailing the 37 ‘rare’ £2 coins that are set to be worth a mint one day – and many of them are still in circulation.

There are only two ships more iconic than the X-Wing, and both of them made this list. No rebel force will be complete without a fleet of X-Wings, but this 1,304 piece set is a bit too pricey for you to make your own squadron. Coming up with $3,500 to purchase one these resistance fighters might be as difficult as destroying the Death Star.

How many pieces are there? – Unless you have actually counted them, don’t give an estimate of how many pieces are in your lot. A better way to quantify your lot is by weight (not including the container or instruction books).
If they re-release sets that gained worth, that won’t do them a favor i think. Some sets i only bought because i hope they gain worth. If they start re-releasing everything good, i won’t do that anymore.
Poe’s X-Wing stands out with the bold black and orange color scheme.  This is a stark contrast to the usual gray and red/blue scheme from the original trilogy.  The assembled starship takes up some space, but does so with a relatively small piece count of 717.  It has all of the features you would want from an X-wing, the wings switch between attack and flight positions, multiple shooters, and retractable landing gear.  Included with set are Poe and two generic Resistance members, the real gem is naturally the BB-8 who sits nicely behind the cockpit.  The build is fairly straightforward and is certainly shorter than some of the bigger sets, but will keep you interested.  Come for the slick color scheme on the awesome X-wing, stay for the great features and BB-8.
Thank goodness we saved the instructions. That is another money saving tip.  They (or you) can rebuild it if it falls on the floor by accident.   It can be a lot of work but it really prevents me from buying more LEGOs.  It’s good modeling for the kids.  Pictured: LEGO Creator Hillside House
Nothing gets us more excited then when LEGO announces a new Star Wars set. Okay, one thing does, and that’s a new movie announcement (which means more LEGO Sets!). With LEGO having built an Empire of collectible sets, it isn’t a wonder some of them are worth some serious cash.
Clean your LEGO pieces. You don’t need to scrub each piece, but a quick wash in warm water and dish soap will add value to your LEGO lot. Put them in a storage tub with enough warm water to cover them. Add some soap and stir them around a bit. Let them soak a while and stir them a few more times. Drain, rinse, and spread them out on a towel to air dry. Stir them up a few times on the towel so the water drains better. Mention in your listing that you have cleaned them. If you have no pets or smokers in your home, mention this as well.
➡ LEGO SALES & DEALS: The LEGO Sales & Deals section of the Online LEGO Shop has a lot of the LEGO video games on sale. This includes LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, The LEGO Movie, LEGO The Hobbit, and LEGO Legends of Chima games. Other than these the only things listed right now are a few magnets, and miscellaneous gear. However this section is going to be very busy as we get closer to the end of the year, especially right after Christmas. So make sure you check it regularly. Since the company’s beginning in 1932, Lego has grown to be the world’s third largest toy manufacturer, and for good reason. No child or adult can resist creating their favorite monuments, figurines, ships, carousels, and many more! As for the Lego set collectors who love Star Wars, the Millennium Falcon set will keep your Jedi impulses at bay while you’re out in public. If you prefer Batman, then “Holy Cow!” you have to allow yourself to have a ball with the Batcave set! If you just want a good ‘ol pirate-ey time, then land your ship and drop your anchor on the Skull’s Eye Schooner set. Interestingly, the Lego name is derived from the two Danish words “Leg” and “Godt,” which means “play well,” and so you should.
➡ #60098 LEGO CITY HEAVY-HAUL TRAIN: This set includes everything you need for a motorized LEGO train system; a heavy-haul train with 8-channel, 7-speed infrared remote control, hopper wagon, 2 flatbed wagons, helicopter, backhoe and a crane, plus 16 curved tracks, 12 straight tracks, and five minifigures. LEGO trains with a full package of LEGO Power Functions elements and the tracks are rare, and are always a great value, especially when they occasionally go on sale. Please note that this set is also marked as retiring soon. Regular Price: $199.99 – Sale price: $159.99 – BUY HERE
Minifigures – The little LEGO people are called “minifigures” or “minifigs” for short. Sort them out so they can be seen in your photographs. Also sort out minifigure accessories like hats, swords, tools, etc. If you have a large number of minifigures you might consider putting them in their own listing. Minifigures are popular items on eBay.

I haven’t tried it myself yet, since my daughter is a little young for Legos, but I’ve heard great things about Pley. It’s a monthly Lego and Duplo rental service, kind of like Netflix for Legos. It could be a great way to try some of the cool sets before you spend lots of money on them, since we all know that just because it’s expensive doesn’t mean it will hold your child’s interest. It could also cut down on clutter, since you get to use lots of new sets without having to store the old ones.

Personally I don’t care for the Emporium. It is big, and looks fine on the outside, but it is too empty inside. The more recent modulars are a lot more interesting. Plus, the Emporium is a corner building, so unless you get at least one other one with it, it wouldn’t look right. If you can only get one modular, get the Parisian. It is a very sweet set both inside out, looks good from three sides, and is perfectly fine as a display piece all by itself. And you will have several more years to buy it. 😉

I have only bought new modulars for list price, so I can’t advise too much here. Which modulars will you be bricklinking? I imagine that CC, MS and GG will be incredibly expensive no matter how you get them since I have heard that some of the parts (I think the blues in CC and the sand green in GG) are quite expensive. I seem to remember people saying it is cheaper to bricklink though.
I went to the new Lego shop in Liverpool UK today I asked if they had Lego fire brigade and they said it has now been discontinued and sold the last five this morning. It is still saying back orders accepted on website. They said they only hear about a set being discontinued a week before they sell out, if you are looking for it I would grab one soon
My son wanted this set basically for the Chase McCain mini figure (considering the cost of this set, versus Chase McCain alone, this set was a better option), but the set as a whole is great. It was fun to put together and holds up really well. The cop car is great with the trunk that opens to store the cops “tools”. Also the tire-stoppers are fun too.
Later, I found the Town Hall and from what I saw online I LOVED the set, and therefore bought it. I recently just built both sets and now I am hooked on the modular buildings. I’ve limited myself to exclusively collecting them (with only a couple cheats allowed on the side). I picked up the Palace Cinema this weekend and will now go in order from there buying the Persian Restaurant in January with some Christmas money and then the Detective’s Office later next year.
Even if these ideas here don’t inspire you to begin your own Lego modular creation, they are cool to look at, aren’t they! And hopefully, Lego will continue introducing a new modular building every year so we can all keep building the kits and adding to our fun and realistic looking Lego towns. Enjoy!
We have included all of the sets below for you to see with both exterior and interior photos. If you are looking to begin or add to a Lego modular series, keep in mind that some of these are already retired and others will continue to retire as time goes on. Once retired, sets are very difficult (and expensive) to acquire.

Everyone has to start somewhere and having/not having some modulate is what makes everyone’s street layout unique. If the Fire Brigade and Grand Emporium were still available at retail, I would probably pick them up. But at $300+ for the Fire Brigade and $200+ for the Grand Emporium; to me it’s just not worth it, and that’s okay.

Lego is the best game to get for your kids and even you might enjoy it to. The quality surpasses many other games for kids, this one won’t break so fast (my other sets lasted me for many years). I also find it to be healthy for their brains because it teaches them to follow instructions and see what they can accomplish with patience.
My fiance is a big fan of Burton’s Batman Returns so I bought this as a gift for her and she absolutely loves it. The Penguin’s duck boat is awesome and so are the little penguins holding the dynamite. The little Batman submersible thing is neat too, but it’s definitely upstaged by the duck boat.
One of those bad guys is Bane, and he may just bust out of his cell if he’s not watched too closely. With the turn of a disk, he’ll power up, glow, and break free! Perfect for encouraging imagination and story building, it’s a great gift for ages 3 – 8.
After this realization I debated getting the Grand Emporium and Fire Brigade, and decided not to because it will be very difficult to muster 6+ bills to get each of the original two sets(I will most definitely at some point need all the Modular sets). Well now that the pet shop is released I’m afraid on of the others will be discontinued the prices will sky rocket as their predecessors have, making it even more difficult to collect the modular buildings at a later date.
Again, this one looks very simple on the box, but once you’ve tried fiddling around with over 2,500 incredibly similar pieces, you’ll be ripping your hair out. The fact that the cockpit opens, the wings fold up and the cannons are meant to move does not make matters any easier. But wouldn’t a shuttle like this look lovely on your shelf?
Earlier this year, LEGO began to update the retail box designs for their Creator Expert theme of sets. This has become a talking point among many LEGO collectors and investors who have been wondering what exactly this means, and how it may affect the retirement dates of particular sets. The new logo is made up of six 1×1 angular bricks arranged in a continuously connecting pattern reminiscent of a LEGO MC Escher painting. The new logo made its debut with the release of 2015’s 10248 Ferrari F40 and has since unified the Creator Expert lineup box logos… almost. A mass redesign of boxes for available sets is an unprecedented move by LEGO, so nobody knows for certain what exactly the meaning is behind this move, but reasonable deductions can possibly be inferred from it.
My grandson, six years old, put this together by himself, these toys add so much to children’s lives. It gets them off of the computer and building with their hands. He is six and is able to follow the directions, I think following directions is a skill that many children miss in their younger years. These toys are good not only for their dexterity it makes them think about what comes next.
I would just like to add to your post, they also make other modular sets that are not exclusive to the Creator Expert line, but they are exclusive or somewhat close. The best two examples that I can give you would be the Monster Fighters Haunted House which actually can fit into your LEGO city, if you want to incorporate it. The other set which came out earlier this year is the Bike Shop & Cafe set.

Perhaps a little more basic on the exterior, the Grand Emporium (set # 10211) lacks nothing on the interior. Fashioned after Harrod’s in London, the Grand Emporium features a clothing shop on the first floor, connected by escalator to a home goods shop on the second floor, connected by escalator to a toy shop on the third floor. There is a large atrium rising through all three floors with a large crystal chandelier at the top and the front door features a turnstile entrance along with displays for window shopping. There are even dressing rooms on the first floor and the billboard on the roof is an iconic touch!

Nice list, i’d suggest the grand prix racer (lego technic 42000) for the 7th spot. Can have power functions added to it but the main reason is just the thing being very detailed and close to 60cm long.
Space (City) is the third attempt at depicting contemporary efforts in space. The theme was preceded by Shuttle Adventure, which was released in 2010 under the Lego Exclusives line to coincide with the retirement of the Space Shuttle. The set proved to be extremely popular among children and was re-released in 2011 as Shuttle Expedition with several re-designs to improve playability.
I thinking of getting the palace cinema, but, I already have the town plan set that came with a cinema in it and it works fine with what I have. I to am hoping that LEGO would drop there prices on sets alittle( or a lot) and that the sale drop would give them enough of a warning to scale back a little. Yes thats actually what happened to me, I recovered an old catalog from 2007, flipped through it, and found the Cafe Corner. My eyes widened as I drooled over the set (its price was listed as $130.) I couldnt find it on legoshop.com, so I looked on eBay and found one for $1040. I was then really disappointed, because I could never afford it at that price…
Launch Command was released in 1995 as a Lego Town subtheme. It was the first dedicated Lego theme that attempted to depict real-life contemporary efforts of space exploration. Prior to the theme’s official launch in 1995, two sets were released in preceding years that are considered predecessors to the theme. Space Shuttle Launch, released in 1990, featured NASA logo, unlike subsequent releases. Shuttle Launching Crew, released in 1992, featured the characteristic “V” pattern seen on Launch Command sets released in 1995. The two shuttles released in 1995 were in fact labeled “2” and “3”, leading one to believe that shuttle 1 was contained in 6346 Shuttle Launching Crew.
Like yourself, it is easy to look back and wish for the older sets (in my case the Fire Brigade and the Grand Emporium). But I look at it this way: The Pet Shop was my first modular and so my collection will start from there and I will buy everyone from there on “up”.

Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Darth Vader, and Princess Leia hold iconic status in the Star Wars universe. LEGO Star Wars minifigures allow movie fans to collect and play with their favorite characters….
My 7 year old son just opened and assembled this toy today. It is his first Technic product from Lego. He assembled it just fine, and he is thrilled with the outcome. It took about an hour to put together. He is having a blast playing with the pullback feature and making it go across the room. He put in one of his lego guys as a driver. He says, “It is awesome. It can go more than 12 feet.”
For more great pictures and reviews of these wonderful sets, please follow the link at right. I have personally built all of the Lego modular buildings, except for Assembly Square, and the Parisian Restaurant was my favorite build followed closely by the Cafe Corner. Which Lego modular do you think would be the most fun to build?

I’ve always been in 2 minds about the Sydney opera house, it just seems so expensive compared to Tower bridge and especially Big Ben both of which I have, they both have many more pieces for less money. I managed to get Doctor Who for £35 on amazon, I got Big Bang theory with VIP points, own ewok village and Wall-E. That leaves the sandcrawler which has never been a must buy like ewok village was.

I think the MechDragon went on sale after I wrote this article. As I mentioned; this time of the year it is a good idea to check both lists frequently as new items get added regularly. As far as the Detective Agency, yeah, it is too awesome! And I love the story about the cookies! 😛
I gave this to my nephew yesterday for Christmas and he loved it. Right away we started to play with it. It has so many pieces and details that we only got to build 3 sets between us two. My nephew sure is going to have a blast building the whole thing all week haha that means he’s going to be entertained for many hours!! That will definitely give my sis some time to sit back and relax.
Let’s be honest; Legos can be expensive.  The inner Star Wars fanatic might really want to buy that 4,000 piece Death Star, but that’s simply not for everybody.  It certainly isn’t practical if you need to find something for your niece or nephew’s birthday present.  We’re here to help.  Below is a list of the cheaper Lego Star Wars sets that we love, with a brief summary of why we love them.  We limited this list to setes with an MSRP under $25.

I can see now that the most pricey element is the Certificate of Authenticity, for a whooping US$ 800. Let’s remove that, I’m not creating an authentic piece. Next it’s a Sticker Set for the Falcon holder, at US$ 170. Let’s get rid of that.

If you’re a collector looking to grab as many of the architecture sets as you can, you’ll be pleased to know the scale of the Capitol building matches the scale used for other Washington D.C. sets created within the Architecture sub-series, including specifically the Lincoln Memorial, making it a great choice for fans of politics or United States history specifically. The set weighs a little under four pounds in total, and the sheer number of pieces—basically makes it a poor fit for children looking to build the set on their own. However, we think this set is great for puzzle collectors and history fans alike, and would make a great bonding experience with your kids, so long as they’re willing to play with a building instead of a spaceship set. If you’re looking for a complex set that is a perfect match between “responsible adult” options and the fun of playing with Legos, you’ll have to check out the Capitol Building set from the Architecture line. It’s one of our favorites.
The Assembly Square ground level features a bakery with counter, cash register, shelves, opening oven, wedding cake and assorted buildable pastries and treats; a florist’s shop with counter, cash register, garden tools, flower arrangements, bouquets and a blue and yellow macaw parrot element; and a café with espresso machine, counter, bench seating and pie elements. The middle level features a music store with a buildable drum set, two guitars and saxophone element; photo studio with a “antique” large format bellows camera atop an adjustable tripod; and a dental office with buildable reclining chair, waiting area, telephone and a sink. The upper level features a dance studio with buildable piano and reflective mirror element; an apartment with buildable foldout sofa bed, detailed kitchen, toilet, micro LEGO® train, modular buildings and Eiffel Tower, and access to a rooftop terrace with buildable barbecue, table and a neglected plant.
“With the soar in popularity of Lego with both adults and children, the effect on the values of both rare, hard to find sets and new releases has been incredible,” said Bev Channell, event director for Lego event BRICK 2015, running at Birmingham’s NEC this week.

In recent years, System sets have begun to adopt previously TECHNIC-exclusive parts, particularly in Exclusives and Star Wars sets. Many modern sets, including TECHNIC sets themselves, blur the distinction between the two systems to a considerable degree.
One of the most popular and sought-after superheroes for both children and adults is the crime-fighting and deep-voiced Dark Knight. Batman isn’t going out of style anytime soon and neither are the toys and games that don his likeness.
For all of you who are fans of the sea, this set is a must have. The coast guard boat is actually very large and quite impressive in person. What is probably most appealing about the large coast guard boat is the fact that it floats (the second smaller green boat floats too). Bath time will never be the same… please note, you may want to avoid applying the stickers in this set if you decide to take either of the two boats that float into the water.
Market Street (set number: 10190) was the second of the Modular Buildings series and designed by Dutch Lego fan Eric Brok.[5] It was originally released as a follow-up to Café Corner in 2007 and priced at MSRP of US$89.[6] The set contains 1236 pieces and is recommended for builders 10 years of age or older. It was one of the first leading buildings. The set features include opening doors and windows, a gate, a striped awning, and 3 minifigures.[7] Advanced construction techniques used in Market Street include: curved staircases, “stripped paint” sections on the walls, interchangeable floors,[8] Dutch/Belgian stepped roof,[3] a basement, offset windows, and wrought iron-look decoration and gate.[9]
LEGO City: LEGO City sets feature community workers and helpers with fun LEGO City buildings and vehicles. You can use these sets to create a LEGO City scene. The Fire Department LEGO City set has a fire truck and fire helicopter. Sets to complete your LEGO City include a bus station, cargo truck, and a train.

Let’s escape out of space and back onto Earth, where we’ll take a look at a couple categories we’ve already seen, but thrown together for good measure: expensive sports car models and the Lego Technic series. That’s right—we’re back with the Technic line to take a look at the Porsche 911 GT3 RS model, one of our favorite vehicle models ever put together by the company best known for bricks. If you thought the Ferrari model listed above was gorgeous, the Technic Porsche takes the cake and devours it too. This thing is complete with an adjustable rear spoiler, fully-functioning headlights and taillights, suspension springs underneath the vehicle, fully-customized rims, and even detailed brake calipers. The gearbox works, complete with a movable steering wheel, gearshift paddles, detailed seating, a glove compartment, and a unique serial number. And, of course, as if we even have to mention it—the hood and doors both open, revealing a suitcase in the front and the engine in the rear of the vehicle. Yeah, this thing is gorgeous, and a total collector’s item, as you’d expect for $299. But with 2,700 pieces, the piece-to-price ratio is pretty decent here, and you even get a full-color collector’s book detailing the history of both the Lego Technic series and the Porsche GT line, so your three Benjamin’s go a long way on this one. It’s a hobbyist product, to be sure, but so are all of these Lego products, and this Porsche model is one of our absolute favorites.
A great source of individual parts (new and used) is Bricklink, an online network of stores who sell Lego piece by piece, as well as some complete sets. You’ll find almost everything cheaper than eBay here.

Lego fans will be ecstatic to know the set measures over 6″ high and 17″ wide, making it great for display while not remaining too large to find a place to build and assemble in your house. The Lego set comes with standard Lego instructions, with one particular improvement: this set also includes a booklet containing information about the historical facts, design, and architecture of this specific building, making it a great set for Lego-enthusiasts, puzzle lovers, and history buffs. The set is incredibly accurate, earning high marks from Lego fans for its focus on accurately recreating and sculpting such an interesting and historical building. The set includes the Capitol’s neoclassical facade, dome, colonnades, north and south wings, steps and lawns. What’s even cooler: if you remove the dome, you can gain access to the rotunda inside the Capitol, featuring columns, eight statue elements, and even a tiled floor.
Friends: The LEGO Friends are a group of girls who live in Heartlake City. Each of the girls has a particular interest like animal rescue, science, or performing arts. The girls go on adventures, such as to the jungle for an animal rescue mission or to a ski resort for a fun time on the slopes. These sets feature mini-figures, buildings, and vehicles.

We’d be lying if we said this was our first pick for our favorite Batman-related set, but unfortunately, a large number of Lego Batman sets were discontinued before the release of this year’s smash animated comedy “The LEGO Batman Movie.” Thankfully, a number of movie-branded sets replaced them, and while most of them were aimed at children, we think the Batcave Break-In set is the perfect kit for parents and kids to build together. With over 1,000 pieces, it’s a bit of a challenge for younger children to tackle on their own, but if they’re big fans of the animated film, they’ll love the task of recreating one of the scenes from the movie—and you’ll love building it with them. With plenty of minifigures, accessories, and play-styles, this is one of our best picks for a set that balances complexity with play, making sure that even after the set is built, your child can still play around and recreate the adventures of Will Arnett’s Batman right in your own house. If you’re a fan of this Batman set, there are a ton of other Lego Batman sets that are guaranteed to create the same amount of fun and enjoyment in your child’s eyes—and you’ll have fun watching them learn how to build it right on their own.

They don’t always discontinue them– the best example I can think of is probably the Star Destroyer, which was around longer than LEGO initially expected, thanks to excellent sales. They offered it in catalogs from at least 2002 to 2007 (6 years). If they offered the UCS MF that long, it would be in catalogs until at least 2012!

Thanks to its 3,104 pieces, most of which are the exact same shade of grey, the Ultimate Collector’s Series version of the Imperial Star Destroyer is pure evil as a piece of design. The Emperor would be proud. It comes with a 16+ age tag, and isn’t for the feint of heart. And since it’s been discontinued for quite a while, it’s also impossibly expensive. This is one for the only the most die hard Star Wars fans.

“shop lego by age review +lego pet shop cheap”

After calculating the price for the entire set, you can now order all the pieces by price so you can see which are the ones causing the greater damage. So, for my example, the UCS Millennium Falcon still costs US$ 3800. We’re now US$ 2600 down from the original price, but still, a lot of money.
LEGO’s series of Creator Expert Modular Buildings started in 2007 and has since skyrocketed in popularity with LEGO fans, both young and old. The advanced building techniques, unique designs, and connectable nature of the sets makes them a collector’s dream and every single one has appreciated greatly in price after retirement.
The hardest part about the collection is obtaining the buildings that are discontinued. Most sets are discontinued 2-3 years after they are released. I was in a similar situation trying to obtain the Green Grocer and Market Street (already owned Cafe Corner). For both of these sets I used Brick Link to purchase each individual part and assemble the buildings. It’s a lot of work, but the Green Grocer set is now my favorite mainly due to the amount of effort I put into creating it.

Walmart.com just had their 10193 stock replenished in the last week or so, after a long absence. I’ve had an email alert for months with the hope of buying it for $89 (the previous sale price), but when it came back in stock, it also came in at $99.
Delivery will almost always be made by a courier or signed for method of posting, and all items will be well packaged to ensure the product stays in perfect condition. We also offer free shipping on any spend above £35. There is also the option for an enchanced postage service, whatever the level of spend. This is certainly valuable for last minute purchases or if you want to guarantee a faster delivery. We also use stronger packaging on sets posted with an enchanced service, we hate to see box damage, especially on the rarer sets we sell.
However, studless construction also introduces disadvantages. Studless construction is not immediately intuitive, requiring the builder to think five or six steps ahead.[4] While studded construction follows the classic bottom-to-top building pattern, studless construction requires building inside-to-outside.[5] Studdless constructions are noted to often be more flexible than an equivalent studded construction. This is due to the amount of flex in the clip-based pins which are used to attach studdless parts together, whereas studs provide a more rigid friction fit.

You can search online for replacement guides for the most expensive sets, and you’re always going to find great tips. For example, most of the internal parts of the Millennium Falcon were some technic yellow parts, that were also created for other much common sets at the time. But now, those sets are scarce, so those yellow pieces (that you’ll never see) are pricey as hell. You can replace them by the same piece, but in another color, and you’ll save literally 150 dollars, in only 16 pieces.

The thirteenth set of the modular buildings is a particularly large one — 10260 Downtown Diner includes 2480 pieces. A three-store building with a 1950s-style diner in the first level, a gym on the second level and a recording studio on the third. Includes 6 minifigures and a pink convertible car.
The newest LEGO Modular Buildings – the #10232 LEGO Creator Palace Cinema, and the #10243 LEGO Creator Parisian Restaurant – are shown as available. I just finished building the #10243 LEGO Creator Parisian Restaurant, and I will say this; if you only buy one LEGO Modular set, get this one. I enjoyed every step of the building process and the final model is just so lovely. Building adult-oriented sets is so different from building regular LEGO sets; they are so much denser, there is so much more detail, and the techniques used are so interesting. I don’t know how many times I said to myself during building “Wow! It’s so cool how they did that!”
The ground floor is the ticket and concessions area leading up to the theater floor housing a reel-to-reel projector showing a black and white motion picture to a maximum seating of six. This floor also has stairs accessing the roof, atop which the two brick-built promotional searchlights can be placed. The set includes six minifigures.
Why? I am a 100% serious. This is one of the most enlightening Technic sets that I have touch. When you build it you have the sense of understanding. You are one with the LEGO. And what the hell… the experience only cost 9€. You must read my review of the Model A and Model B.
Hubby turning a major bday this year and grumbling about getting old. Very involved with the CG and the CG Aux so I decided to let his inner “Coastie” come out and play. He laughed, he swore and then laughed some more, and now can’t wait to take his new “boat” to the next CG Aux meeting!

I bought this set to go along with Lego City Undercover on the Wii U, which is a must have game for anyone! If you buy this set with the Wii U game, you unlock the two vehicles in this set! Even at my older age, I absolutely loved building this set and using the code found on the police vehicles license plate in game to unlock the vehicles I just built. This was my first Lego set in probably 10 years and I’m absolutely in love with Legos again! It amazes me at how good Lego has gotten the sets and the details found on the cars etc. Buy this, and buy the Wii U and Lego City Undercover as well!
The 10232 Palace Cinema, a LEGO Modular Buildings series set, is a highly detailed, 2-story Palace Cinema corner building. This set features brick-built entrance doors, posters, sign frontage, tower with spires and rooftop decoration, lobby, concession stand, ticket area, staircase, big screen, projector and reclining seats for the minifigures. Includes six minifigures: child actress, chauffeur, female guest, male guest, photographer, and cinema worker. Vehicles include classic-style limousine. The building measures 15″ high × 10″ wide × 10″ deep and the Limousine measures 1.6″ high × 5.9″ long 1.9″ wide.
If your argument may be that you do not have the funds, then I would purchase the remaining sets for resale because I guarantee that you will get your money back and then some. You can always change your mind from selling it new, to building it and then selling it used at more than what you paid for.
Oh, and finally, if you’re collecting it, they tend to only come out with one a year, so that’s only 6 cents a day coming out of your wallet to stay up to date. (It’s a different story if you’re bent on getting missed sets of course, but you don’t need to. Get the stuff that is out now.)
Commemorative box set with built-in Joker sound chip given away at the San Diego Comic Convention 2005 to announce the launch of the Batman range. Includes Batman and The Joker minifigures. Limited to 250 sets.
Second, I suspect that one reason is that LEGO will have done a lot of market research and testing of their products, and have discovered that in the target market for Technic sets, customers are not especially interested in them, possibly because older children and AFOLs spend less time with make-believe play but are more interested in the engineering apects of the product.

Batman is given a wide range of vehicles, their appearances resembling their accepted forms. Several vehicles, including the “Batman Dragster”, “Batman’s Buggy”, and “Bat-Tank”, have also been introduced. The Batmobile appears similar to the way it does in the 1989 film, while the Batboat takes on a hovercraft-like form. All the set-boxes feature a comic strip by artist Greg Hyland at the back, featuring stylized versions of the set in action.
